Which Weapon Enchant? Celestial Guidance vs. Sinful Revelation

Celestial Guidance
Permanently enchants a weapon to sometimes increase your primary stat by 5% when attacking, or using spells and abilities.

Sinful Revelation
Permanently enchants a weapon to sometimes cause your attacks to reveal the sins of your target, causing them to suffer an additional 6% damage from you for 10 sec.

Which one is better for us? Also I don’t know if anyone has any data on the proc rates of these two, duration of CG, or info on what “your target” actually means with SR - but that would really help.

Your target for sinful revelation, basically puts a debuff on the target for 10 seconds; beyond that I just sim it.

Oh that’s lame, in every scenario with multiple targets Celestial Guidance is better then…

Does Sinful even work for us? When enchants and trinkets just say “your attacks” it usually means melee attacks. Stuff that procs off of spells usually specify “spells and abilities”, like Celestial does.

Sinful works with spells and usually has very good uptime too.

Here’s a sample from my Xy’mox kill earlier for reference (~52.7% uptime):

Everything Sims higher then Sinful Revelation because it doesn’t look like its showing up in the sims at all from what I can tell.

Sinful Revelation + Shadow Embrace plus + Necrolord Cold Embrace = massive debuff

No one plays Necrolord if they are playing affliction.

Yeah and if they are doing any kind of PvP, you’re not gonna be Necrolord. Nightfae only for PvP or you just die too easily to world of meleecraft.

I think the only spec Necrolord passes nightfae on is Destro

In absolute single target scenarios sinful is better however as soon as a second target is introduced celestial pulls ahead.

That said celestial is the go to for how versatile it is. Now if you have two of the same weapon at the same ilvl have one of each of you want.

Exactly. To put some numbers behind it, I found even when doing a pure single target 5 min patchwerk sim for Destro, the difference between SR and CG was around 8-11 dps (with SR being ahead).

Meanwhile, the sim I ran about 2 weeks ago had CG 103 dps higher than SR if I changed it to a 3 boss fight.

I use Sinful, LOTS of uptime on the mobs.

celestial 100%
