Which warlock spec to play next season?

Hey, i’ve been messing around with the class cause i wanted to try something new next season, i enjoy all 3 specs surprisingly (very rare in this game lol) which spec is looking particuarly spicy for mythic+? I’ve heard aff has some similar problems that shadow does here

Destruction will be playable. The other two might not be.

I’m playing affliction. Don’t care where it ranks, I like the playstyle and I’m having fun

Aff has a lot of design issues that others better versed in the spec would able to go into detail (I just can never get into Aff myself, too many spinning plates with no payoff). On top of this Aff’s new tier set is missing vital talent interactions that cripple its potential. (note: as of Kalamazi’s analysis of the tier sets about 2 weeks ago. If this issue with Aff’s tier set has been fixed the dev notes have not reflected this)

Destro will more or less play the same next tier but with the ability to opt into passively spawning rifts for extra single target and soul shard generation. The tier set looks good going into next season and should be notably good in AoE with Hellcaller.

Demo is received a few buffs that will help its consistency, a running theme with the buffs the spec has slowly been getting over this xpac. The new tier set for Demo is pretty strong in both single target and AoE.

No clue yet how Warlock fairs against other classes but Destro and Demo should at least be good for keys.

Play Enhance or Retribution :upside_down_face:

Jokes aside I guess will be sticking to Destruction on what little I plan on playing on Warlock.

Cbf anymore with this class. Lock developers dont exist.

I really love demo and make it work! Not as consistent with Destro.

If destro pulls too far ahead I’ll probably play it

You can always tell when someone doesn’t understand how anything works when they use 100 percentile logs to justify spec performance.

PTR shows Destro and Demo will be fine. Guilds farming Mythic have multiple warlocks. 3K+ runs have warlocks.

Linking 100 percentile logs is shouting that you’re ignorant and inexperienced. Not a single, rational person looks at the literal best of the best parses in the world and uses it to demonstrate effectiveness.

demo cause destro is too fast for my slow brain

Just a reminder to everyone that this troll hasn’t even finished LFR yet alone attempted heroics/mythic or even KSM and spends his time telling other players that have a skill issue whenever they complain about the state of lock

This is an alt. It’s clear you have zero intentions to have any discussions in good faith (you, yourself, are hiding behind a 950 IO Paladin in a post about Warlocks).

The reason it’s my primary character is because I plan on maining Demo for 12+ in S2 with my friend group, so I just do a weekly 10 for vault - which is also why I don’t even have a single CoT key yet have KSH and AOTC. I know that’s difficult for you to digest, and the idea of an alt is a complex thought - but please understand that me being on an alt doesn’t invalidate accomplishments, just like I don’t assume your 950 IO Paladin is your main. It would make sense, though. (You have no historical CE’s, could only hit 2500 in DF S4 - which was free… but let’s panic over an alt).

Too gutless to post on their own main and still critictising others for doing so? Pathetic.

You’re insufferable. I’m no longer replying. I’ve already stated this is going to be my main for S2, and specifically stated I never called you out for hiding behind an alt despite you attacking me for it.

Move along. No one cares about your opinion anymore bud. Glad these forums have a perma-ignore feature. Someone incapable of getting AOTC, KSH, and hides behind a useless character in order to talk down to others is wild. Spend more time reading guides instead of harassing others.

I have AOTC and KSM its not hard to do but if you bothered to check.

You’re not an airport. You don’t need to announce your departure. Just use the ignore feature - why does everyone need to know about it? Very attention seeking behaviour.

Whatever spec you like.

Do not listen to the meta-addicts who only think classes+specs are viable bec. their fav. streamer-person says so.

Pls use your brain people. Every class is viable in WOW  it does not matter if 1 class does 1-10% more dps.
Very few people can play classes+specs super good.(im no good player at all) So just play what you enjoy!

Destruction and Demonology are amazing for M+, fun and easy to play. Destruction is even easier than Demonology. I particularly recommend Destruction for M+ or raids, Demonology for delves.

If just need 10s, any spec.
Destro Hellcaller might be the push spec, same as S1

It’s looking like it. From early testing the recent changes aren’t going to hit Hellcaller Destruction’s aoe very much (if at all) but its single target gained roughly 120k dps according to early sims.

So destro is still aoe king while now having even stronger boss damage, which was its weak point last season.

Personally I’m a diehard affliction fan but I’m having a really hard time committing to another season of it. Even though it’s not massively behind, it carries the stigma that it is, along with the stigma of being the “bad” warlock spec.

People just don’t want to invite affliction, and now that both demo and destro got buffs it’s going to be even harder to play it as someone who mostly pugs.

It was such an uphill battle to reach even 2600. This next season I want the new 2850 mount (I think that’s the rating, it might be 3000) and that’s going to be even more of an uphill battle.

Destro and Demo are both looking real nice right now :eyes:

Is the qualification for “real nice” one of the lowest ranged DPS spec now?
