Which Tank Do You Like

What tanks do you guys like playing this season? I guess I’m not in the mood to push 20’s with my extra healers as I’ve done in the past so I’m thinking about a change of pace. I haven’t really been following the tanks lately so which one feels best in your opinion.

BEARS are best if you ask me. I don’t know how to die on my bear.

For me, bear all the way. To me it feels intuitive and the abilities make sense. No out of control button bloat and I love druids anyways, so it makes sense for me.

Good defensive abilities, straightforward self heals, it’s overall really a great tank if you aren’t looking for anything crazy in terms of rotation or mechanics.

I’m just getting into dungeons with my Druid to tank and I’m enjoying it 100%.

I prefer blood. Solo power, easy and solid kit to work with and death grip is the easiest way to reposition annoying and stubborn casting mobs.

Bear still feels great despite being considered one of the worst. Tons of extra healing for the party, good amount of CC and tons of other utility in a decurse, typhoon, vortex, hibernate and a soothe. They normally have a smooth damage intake which I like and while single target damage seems low you can get 400k+ pretty easily on larger pulls.

VDH is my back up. The amount of control it has in some of the dungeons with higher count of caster mobs is frankly insane and should probably be nerfed a bit. They can be spiky when leaping in but once they get tier fire sigil down they smooth out a lot. The one thing I don’t care for is how Fel Dev forces you to stand still, this means you need to know whats coming or be able and willing to cancel it which doesn’t feel good.

Prot warrior was okish. Damage seemed a bit low (but I’m still using season 1 gear so its hard to tell) but they are tanky. My main gripe is that you need to hold rage or TC for when adds spawn on some fights as they don’t have a aoe that isn’t CD based like swipe on a bear.

I don’t play the others so I couldn’t say.

Moo!

Bear in general because it’s very easy, especially since I macro Ironfur to my rage generators.

I just had this debate with myself.

Paladin feels solid, the tier is trash but the class itself feels nice, and Prot Paladin healing is crazy good and I can and do save people often with it.

But bear tanking is just so much more fun. They do have off healing which can be strong but is hard(er) to control. It plays much more fun though, for me.

Prot Paladin feels very good with the 4 piece, lots of flash. It’s very sturdy to me for what I do with it.

What makes you say the tier is trash? there’s a lot of extra damage from empowered consecrate - and weaving in the empowered with wings feels rewarding, to me. (or is this more of an aesthetic comment, which I agree with you - i don’t dig the tier set look…)

Prot Warrior. Rarely play it, but gives me an excuse to expand my vast shield mog library that I never use.

Love my Blood DK. Can’t remember her last death.

You mean, beyond “the” death, right? :upside_down_face:

Just a slightly traumatic rebirth.

I think that may be the problem tbh. I know that some people just really really don’t like the stay in Consecration playstyle.

It definitely makes some of the fights annoying, like Vol’kaal in AD. But I think with the expanded size, and positioning it in such a way that area affects can be danced around, it’s not too bad…

but i’ve not played with it on Sanguine yet…so, ask me after that! :upside_down_face:
