So the Garmentcrafting spec tree tooltip says it helps with “profession equipment”, but I’m not seeing anything in any of its nodes that says it helps with making profession equipment.
The sole exception is to make the Dragoncloth Tailoring Vestments, but those are just for the tailor.
How do I improve skill to make things like Gardening hats?
there isn’t a + profession equipment node specifically for tailoring; gardening/enchanting/fishing hats
gain skill benefit from garmentcrafting-> outerwear → hats (whilst dragoncloth vestments, alchemy robes etc go down the chest armour route). there’s also a generic + skill in the tailoring mastery tree that gives skill to all tailoring abilities.
blacksmithing’s the same - weaponsmithing gives bonuses to hammers, skinning/leather knives, herbalism sickles or pickaxes depending which tree you go down.

To improve the skill in making Gardening hats - in garmentcrafting put 10/10 in making the epic head piece (its gives a generic skill increase for making any head piece like a ‘hat’) and fill out the garment crafting tree that leads to that. Same for chest pieces that applies to other crafting equipment that tailors can make. It’s a bit obtuse - but that’s how it worked for me.

Hats and robes. For the epic tailoring robes both Chronocloth and Azureweave also apply.
And of coarse Tailoring Mastery
