Swapping back to my Shaman. Haven’t maimed him since the beginning of SL. Going to play resto since I enjoy healing, but can’t decide if I should focus on ele or enh for my off spec. Really enjoy both, and I mainly m+.
Any advice? I know ele makes it a bit easier in ways, but don’t mind hearing up enh.
I just started playing again as well! In the same boat where I enjoy playing resto a lot and ele is usually my main off spec
But honestly? The current elemental meta lightning build is really.. unfun imo. It’s really clunkly and more annoying than previous elemental variations and is lackluster in damage.
Enhance atm is killing it tho. Storm build is easy and viable & elemetalist is lauded by many to be the best melee spec in the game in terms of enjoyment + brings better utility.

I enjoy elemental lightning. Weaving frost, fire and lightning. Buffing up your simple lighting bolt filler which is normally such a weak spell into a major hitter.
Seeing 5 or 6 lighting bolt overloads fly out from your hands with Stormkeeper + Power of the Maelstorm.
IDK its fun.
Enhancement feels clunky I dont understand how it is the best melee spec in the game. I would argue that crown goes to Ret Pally.
There are times I don’t have any buttons to push but I don’t have enough maelstorm to instacast.
You have to manage so much from maelstorm stacks, buffs to spells, hailstorm stacks, ice strike buff, tier 30 sunder buffs. Hot hand windows, lava lash buffs.
When to cast vs when to hold the cast.
Its too complicated. Also you have so many buttons you need to bind all the melee stuff and all the ranged stuff too.
