Which spec feels the best to play in your opinion. I am not asking which is the most powerful but more like - what flows the best, feels rewarding when spending cooldowns long or short, animations that make abilities feel like they have an impact etc.
Well, you are on the Druid forums so I’m sure you’ll hear a lot of Druid specs here.
Been a feral player for over 15 years and thoroughly enjoy the spec, rotation, and challenges within, even through the ups and downs. I also play Ret Paladin, have done a BM/Mark Hunter, Warrior, and Mage but enjoy the Feral spec more than everything,
Ret (no offense because I do love the spec) bores me after a couple of hours of playing.
i think if you want a lot of shapeshifting in combat - resto takes the cake.
You use literally every shapeshift form in PvE & PvP - and i feel like the kit is pretty big, so all our abilities feel really important to the group
as a player that enjoys the class fantasy of Druid, that def makes it feel the most special for me.
but all the other specs offer similar class fantasy flavor - it just boils down to what you like, and most importantly - how you enjoy killing your enemies!
!
Feral is the best spec in the game
Bear right now feels great.
Low number of offensive spells to be cast, fairly high number of defensive CD’s with lots of layered mitigation and still tons of utility and group healing. I rarely feel like I’m going to flop over and die or that I don’t have some measure in my own survivability.
Animations are great.
I just wish there was a better bear form. And possibly forms that are similar across the specs/forms, it would make the character feel more coherent. I would love if these where available.
Moo!
Assuming that we are just talking about Druid specs, it really seems difficult to answer this without taking into account that each spec basically corresponds with a different role. Deciding which role you want to play is probably the more important choice.
But ignoring the role differences, feral continues to be the neglected spec. Balance is decent. Guardian benefited heavily from the blanket tank buffs this expansion and is in a good spot right now. Resto is still a good spec with a fun play style but this raid tier was clearly designed to highlight other healers abilities.
I dislike cast timers. Therefor im a bit biased. Regardless of tuning, i really enjoy the flow of Guardian and Feral
I love how smoothly Guardian flows this expansion. We started off pretty soft, but I don’t feel lacking at least in heroic dungeons and world content. Balance can feel a bit clunky. I am not a big fan of Feral. Restoration is quite fun, but healing specs aren’t great this expansion.
When it comes to feeling the most druid, Resto for me is the best overall. Every pull, easily using 3 forms, and sometimes even bear.
When it comes to rotation, bear feels good once you get into the rythm.
Feral feels good when you are in the zone. But man, when I get out of its sometimes hard to get back into that groove.
Think what I like about bear and feral over my prot pally and ret is they definitely have more of a cadence to them and less “smash glowing buttons” feel of paladin.
Discipline priest is the one for me, ive pkayed every class/spec, always say im gonna play a new char every season, but always end up playing my disc priest again.
Best Druid spec, imho, is bear. I am biased af though.
But best overall feeling spec in the game? Demonology Warlock. It just flows so well and feels so natural. I keep my warlock on deck just to have a pallet cleanser every season.
Hoot, hoot.
Hoot?
Damn. Well, I love Balance these days.
Except Stellar Flare.
Stellar Flare was a turd on the Mona Lisa.
It’s really going to vary on a lot of things for each person.
Do you enjoy melee or caster? Do you like to stay moving or prefer a turret spec. Do you like complex rotations with many things to watch or something more simplified?
Tried and love them all for first time … in a long time. I think devs really did well here, some tuning aside.
Playing as feral in m+ and its really fun.
Feral is in a really good place in M+. Our cleave is simply amazing. I can’t wait for patch tomorrow to see how it helps our ST damage in raids.
