With DF about 2 weeks away, how are our three specs stacking up to each other?
As I level, I would like to focus on 1 spec so I can be ready for raiding when I hit 70. I prefer Assassination but I’m open to any of them if the performance gap is big enough.
any thoughts or opinions?
I personally will be maining assassination but I hear the Outlaw will be good for Mythic +. Honestly just play whatever fits your playstyle, you can always switch if one gets buffed or nerfed. 
Blizzard doesn’t usually let things fly too far out of control for too long. The ol’ 'Fun Detected’™ meme.
Play what tickles your fantasy. Or whatever.
I really enjoy with Assassination loading up DoTs and watching mobs walk towards me and fall over from the rot. Grossly satisfying. Rotation-wise, Outlaw probably the best group content feeling.
Personally, I’m going Sub (contrary to what I anticipated earlier before testing). Secret Technique doesn’t register on damage meters but does full damage, so I want to make it look like I’m a terrible player – but any group I’m in wonders why things are dying quickly still.
What can I say, I’m not playing right? I like to tell people who random into groups with me “I’m just playing Blizzard’s game – be mad at them if you want to be mad.” But then again, I’ve always felt like we (the players) have an obligation to pressure Blizzard into bringing up the lowest performing builds.
For me its sin. Just started to really get into rogue and iwish i would have gotten into it a long tine ago, its so damn fun. I knowthis would prolly be tostrong but I would love it if death mark only had a 1 min cool down.
My Plan is to roll w/ Assassination but I will likely run Sub occasionally and will try out Outlaw at some point. It’s been many expansions since I played Rogue and Assassination was my favorite back then… Outlaw was still called Combat the last time I played Rogue.

Come on now Rig, just because someone said a class tree was stupid or bad is why you have already decided to not play sin. Thats crazy.
I play the spec I liked the most, less depending on recent numbers or guides. It’s Sub.
I tried out all of them while leveling and so far I have stuck with Sub. I’m trying to find the best balance for killing mobs quickly and minimal downtime.
That being said, I think I visually prefer swords with Outlaw (and love grappling hook and treasure finding). But in my research, I think Sub is the way to go right now for leveling. With vial and the heal during shadowdance, it might be the best of the 3 specs to keep my health topped off while questing.
Since I’m 3 levels away from 60, I’ll probably get my primal set and test out all 3 specs at 60 and see which one I’m liking the best for grinding quests. I would like Outlaw to win out for me.
For me outlaw is the only spec for me.
I’ll be going into DF as Outlaw. I do dabble in Sin though but I’ve decided it would be my off-spec if anything.
I’ve always though sub was needlessly big brain but I may give it a go in DF.
