So normally I play my hunter but I use to play a mage and just got mine to 80,
After the latest changes and such to mage specs I was curious what spec and hero talent I should invest my time into gearing into?
Arcane, frost or fire?

I’m gonna steer you toward arcane spell slinger because that’s what I would say any time. That’s just where I settled into. I love the rigid fire playstyle and orbs.
You have lots of good options right now though. I’d recommend just swapping through each of the options running a follower dungeon and see which has the toolkit you like most. Some of the visuals are quite cool and that may pull you one way or another.

I picked Arcane because it seemed the coolest to me. All 3 specs are quite easy these days, and are pretty neck and neck as far as overall content goes (YMMV if you are doing a particular type of content)
If you are pvping I would personally suggest frost. Arcane is very good for most raid fights. Fire is perhaps lagging slightly behind but IMO never write off fire
You can’t really go wrong, as long as you’re not looking for the meta

For pvp frost with frost fire.
For PVE arcane but who knows likely a patch will change something soon

If you are just doing delves pick spellslinger and blast the mobs with frozen orb and icelance .
