Any guesses on what servers might have a good chance of not being left dying after the population and hype kinda dies off? Assuming the classic servers will have the same names as the original servers. Granted as we seen in the beta they could just simply rename everything as classic (number). I enjoy role playing but I am not sure if that was a common occurrence on the classic servers. I personally dislike pvp. My old classic server I played on was Uldaman.
Probably the streamer servers, like Asmongold and Sodapoppin. Not that I recommend anyone plays on those servers.
Pvp servers will be super populated. I was on a rp server in vanilla and it was awesome. We didnt do much rp on my server but it did happen from time to time. We also had wpvp events. I think we were about 60% ally and 40% horde. There was a healthy pvp community too. Since there are usually less players on a rp server the community is better. Much easier to keep ninjas in check. I had a great time on my rp server in vanilla. I hope they bring it back for classic.
PvP servers would also be my guess.
PvP realms are always more populated than PvE. Not only a higher population but they last way longer. As for the realm type that will be around the longest? Will probably be a RP-PvP realm. Hopefully they bring back the old realm names and let us see list of all the realms that will be available upon release.
I hope they tell everyone what servers theyâll be on before launch so I can safely avoid them.
I remember back in the day I rolled a Paladin on a PvP realm because I had only ever made characters on PvE servers. Unfortunately I had chosen Stormreaver, the server that Hobbs the âmass pulling Paladinâ played on. Every third character on the server was a Paladin, and it was nigh impossible to find a group.
Iâd rather not deal with that, among other things.
I really hope they release the old server list and let players choose the server they played on so long ago. And in that event, I really donât know what would be populated. Was Illidan always âfullâ? I think Arthas was pretty popular.
The server with the coolest name and/or the server with the best US PVE guild. Specially if they have classic server xfers.
PVP Servers i would say, most likely something 1 hour behind East coast,
The thing with PVE servers is, people roll on em and play there, but pvp servers are just more active, and that brings more population and keeps em.
I see people are still repeating stuff they learned from Private servers. I suppose that will never stop.
The only place PvP servers ever had higher pops than PvE was on European servers. Here in real life during Vanilla in the US PVE (which was called Normal back then) and PvP servers had a fairly even split. PvE was a tiny bit higher because if you added the RPPVE servers and RPPVP servers to the tallies then PvE servers came out ahead.
You can find this old data online with old cached pages. Count the servers then use the time machine page to get a look at the pop designations. (Full etc).
So in reality? I think they will all do well, and just like with Vanilla wow, youâll have some dead pvp servers and some dead pve servers all the same. Except for EU, which I expect will still lean PvP.
Iâve heard both streamers state that they wanna keep the server theyâre playing on secret for as long as possible, not sure how long that will actually last though.
Iâm going to be absolutely enraged beyond words if I get to level 60 and start gearing up only to find I share a server with Asmongold or Swifty or someone else with an irritating fanbase of 14 year olds.
That ainât gonna last long. First minute of their stream, somebodyâs going to go through every single realm and /who until they match up the people in the starting zones to what is on the stream. Unless, of course, they have some other plan, but I canât see an alternative.
Most streamers like Asmongold will be on a PVE servers to avoid harassment. Soda might be different since heâs always been hardcore PVP.
Being hardcore PvP and getting into a hardcore PvE guild for classic now that im older and have more time I am staying on a pvp server (as determined by the guild that I am joining)
that being said - I can see Asmon staying with PvE servers (I think he has always been classically on a pve server?) and soda will probably wait a day and choose the 2nd most populated pvp server there is
Warsong will be the most populated, because a developer will say itâs the best pvp server:)
I forgot about streamers. That might tip the scale in ways that original vanilla didnât have.
If a lot more streamers go PvE to dodge ganking then I guess that could push the PvE pop over the top. But I still expect them to be even. Some streamers Ill bet have the balls to go PvPâŠ
PvP servers will eventually.
Every poll Iâve seen suggests pvp servers will have the most people.
if it was like Vanilla it would be PVE, but pservers have shown its more likely PVP and thats what I expect to have the most long term honestly in Classic.
