So everyone seems to point at assassination but when i play it i really get overwhelmed by having to keep track of the dots and the mechanics. altho im new to the class and maybve ill get the hang of this with time. but which spec would you suggest for a new rogue who only plays PVE? i want something thats easy to pick up and learn the basics
Out of all em probably outlaw. Its mainly just refreshing your buffs and then spamming between the eyes in ur stealth windows. Super fun to do open world stuff on them too.

From my experience in this game…no rogue spec meets that description at all. Every spec seems to require more attention than I am willing to put into it.
But I wish you luck in finding one you like.

For all of the talk I see about rogues being easy, that’s not my experience anymore. They are one of the more attention heavy classes in the game, tons of buttons in a basic rotation, and of course limited range.
Personally I’d suggest outlaw, but even that isn’t easy imo, it’s just slightly less to deal with.

I have to agree with this. Rogue is a fun class, but it is not as simple to play as some others. It’s going to take a bit more practice to get used to.
Personally I prefer assassin, but your mileage may vary.
Consider trying out all three specs on some test dummies and see which one seems to stick with you the best.

Outlaw probably the easiest since I don’t think it focuses on dots, just build combo points then spend them
Subtlety be my second choice as it has a dot skill you can spend your combo points on but it has I think less abilities to think about then even outlaw in my experience.
This is just from one of my rogues I still have, I don’t know if I kept my higher level rogue on one of the other servers since I typically delete my characters when I’m done and re level that class again.
EDIT: Alright so playing around with outlaw I think is pretty fun, shooting enemies in the face is satisfying and warmode can give you a finisher that has you leap into the air then dive bomb the target.
Pretty much this, and I also prefer assassin. Rogue is about managing cd’s to me and a lot of planning ahead. I never really tried the other specs so trying different ones may be a pain but at least give you an idea - but also may tire you out on the whole class.
I’d suggest one that just appeals to you and go for it. I enjoy the heck out of my rogue and the challenges it gives me. It can be a lot of fun if you really spend some time getting into it.
Assissnation is the easiest of the three specs to play.
