Which realm is best for a new player?

Which server would you recommend for a new player? It can be horde or alliance.

To this day I still feel like if your heart is in PVP the people at Emerald Dream are still passionate about PVP despite being all/most servers being combined.

So I would say Emerald Dream for Community/PVP feel.

Preferred time zone? Language?

Horde: mal’gnis, illidan, area 52, tich

Alliance: stormrage.

All other realms are a step down

I’m eastern time zone, english. Other zones work too honestly.

Those servers have a healthy Population and lots of guilds. Now if you don’t care about end-game and guilds, pick whatever server.

What region are you playing? NA, LATAM or SEA?

Do you like to Roleplay? Moonguard (Alliance) or Wyrmrest Accord (Horde) are your best bets.

Otherwise you basically want to roll on the servers with the most people.

New player realms are a trap. Roll alliance on Stormrage, Sargeras or Proudmore, horde on Illidan, Thrall, Area52, Tichondrus, Mal’ganis, Zul’jin or Hyjal.

How are they a trap? Genuinely asking.

Pick a full/high pop realm. You will regret not doing so eventually if you continue playing long-term.

They are tags that are typically slapped onto lower population realms in hopes of boasting their population.

However it rarely does what they want it to do because much like reality, we flock to the biggest servers like people flock to big cities.
