You do know white text means we’re not Blizzard employees, right?
Pandaren of course.
It would come down to these 3 races Pandaren, Dwarf or Kul Tiran.
I think Dwarves would end up winning.
Dwarfs or pandas. Both races based in alcoholism. Wine elves might be a contender as well.
Damn I completely forgot about these guys. They’ve been drunks for like… 10,000 years?
Even devoted schools of magic to age it faster.
Advanced alcoholicness.
That is a worthy challenge. Not a smart one but I would love the opportunity.
The subsequent hangover would be well worth it.
Hate to burst your drinking cultures’ mythos, but tolorance levels are perceptive, not objective, you get used to the sensations and figure out how to function through them. You hit blackout levels of BAC, you black out. With some odd exceptions once in a while.
A 120lb Irish/Russian/Belorussian/whatever is not going to be able to out-drink a 400lb ball of fat, blood and fat, no matter what their cultures’ perception of tolerance levels are, nor your perception of their cultures’ tolerance levels.
Sorry but you’re still wrong.
Undead for sure. Hard to get drunk without a metabolism.
pretty sure getting drunk without a metabolism is easy, getting sober again would be the hard part
but, you can’t have a blood alcohol content if you don’t have any blood … so yea, undead probably win this one in a landslide
If you don’t metabolize food and drink, nothing happens to absorb it. It would literally run through their bodies without absorbing anything.
Dwarf vs Pandaren vs Kul Tiran vs Jinyu.
Jinyu wins, because fish.
Exactly when I was younger and drank I was a very small woman, and I could slam down beers and shots and go back for more. I’m a lot older now not quite a small now as it was then but I will be again thanks to Keto and I don’t drink anymore. Although when I was in Vegas I found out I still can drink 3 days in a row and get drunk off my butt and not have a hangover
thats not how it works
when you drink alcohol a certain % is absorbed into your blood through your stomach, and most of the rest of is is absorbed through your bowels (only a small % passes through and is urinated out)
absorbing alcohol into your blood is what makes you drunk
after it is in your blood stream it is carried to your liver where it is metabolized (meaning, broken down)
metabolization is what makes you sober again
so, no blood … no drunkenness … undead win, no contest
this isn’t necessarily true. if you’re really overweight with no muscle your lack of metabolism will negatively effect your ability to win the contest.
I’m a big person myself, muscular a little bit, and I can out drink just about everyone I know.
Except for this guy who is like 180lbs and just an absolute ridiculous alcoholic. Some people have a freaky tolerance to it despite not being a very large individual.
So … taking tolerance into account, we’ve got two cultures in WoW that are seriously about booze – Dwarves and Pandaren. Those are going to be your finalists, no doubt, because these two were practically weaned on liquor.
As to which one comes out on top? Beats me. If one’s a Brewmaster Monk and the other isn’t, the edge goes to the professional. If it’s neither or both, possibly a coin flip.
Mechagnome, they’ll cheat by burning the alcohol into fuel and turn the rest of it into steam. They can drink all day, never get drunk because they don’t digest a single drop.
Thign is, dwarves in Warcraft rely on alcohol as an actual nutrient. They’re built genetically to require alcohol to maintain what we see as sobriety, and if they’re sober, their vision blurs! As noted by a dwarf in the Dark Iron brewry in Blackrock Depths.
Pandaren are adapted to drinking heavily, their entire species built a culture around heavy drinking, and brewing the strongest of booze. They CAN get drunk, but they’re extremely resistant to it.
Forsaken rely on their being undead to deal with normal toxins and poisons, as alcohol is a low level poison, the forsaken are effectively immune to normal alcohol intake. Someone noted how the Forsaken have to formulate their own chemically designed liquor to even simulate the effects of drunkenness.
Blood Elves hail from a long standing culture that has consumed liquor in extremely high concentrations. Much like the Nightborne who relied in Arcwine for their arcane fix from the Nightwell, the Blood Elves having stacked addicions only makes the sin’dorei even more tolerant to liquor. Like the difference between Legolas and Gimli. A Blood Elf can keep on drinking due to a long standing culture with drinking kept subtle. Wine tends to have a much harder punch than beers, and is thus more expensive due to the higher alcohol content of wines.
Overall, it would make sense to see Lor’themar and Thalyssra drinking! I would imagine things might get romantic… then sloppy… then sloppy romantic… then they’d have to cool it once they’ve become so drunk that they start to reject the liquor…
Given how the Mechagnome racials are literally a throwback to Bender Bending Rodriguez from Futurama, it’s a safe bet the Mechagnomes could adapt their bodies to use ethanol as a fuel source, which would easily make them the best drinkers on Azeroth as they wouldn’t actually get alcohol poisoning and black out or die, they would just burn any excess ethanol in the most comical way possible, because they are gnomes.
