I know a great deal, but not all of the advanced intricacies of the spec and I’m willing to admit that.

You spam arcane missiles, use arcane orb to up your arcane charges when it’s full and you have more arcane orbs you throw out one arcane barrage but your arcane orbs determine the strength of your arcane missiles, use evocation when you run out of mana… have a gem ready. I’ll admit I wasn’t aware of it bringing extra damage though. From what I know the gem gives you 25% extra mana. 3 charges… grats On being right about one thing. All the other moves take half a second to cast… so yeah once again spam arcane missiles until you need to use your orb or barrage… bravo mage

Mana Gem is currently used as a spell damage buff, not as a Mana regen, because Arcane Mages don’t have problems with Mana management

Frost is easy to play, hard to master. At high levels it’s a ton of fun. It’s competitive with the other specs and on some M+ weeks it has a TON of utility to help the group. On sanguine, it sucks, but it’s not the end of the world.

To stay alive as a Mage is the skill set. But the rotation on Frost is easy provided you know when the target is CHILLED. Chilled targets take more damage.

I basically solo most of the time and really miss Arcane. I love the spells and the concept but I’ve struggled to use it for soloing. Frost works best, easiest for me for my gameplay.

I agree completely my fellow goblin or goblin visaged friend. I’ve been playing my (arcane) mage a lot lately because I love the class fantasy of it, but it’s tough to do good damage when you mess up something. And the ramp up, ughhhhhh. Spam arcane explosion for a clearcast proc, channel evocation, touch of the magi, whatever kyrian covenant power is, arcane surge, nether tempest… THEN you can start hitting it for a little bit …

I think you’re right, Frost is a lot easier to get your head around and even if you mess up a little bit, it’s a lot more forgiving. I’m sure with enough practice arcane will get easier but dang, steep learning curve, at least for me.
