politics is still trading knowledge. run-sale is not trading anything.

Neither topics are actually toxic , Its how they discuss or advertise those topics that determines if it is toxic or not . This is true for anything .

I would wholeheartedly say trade run-sale spam. I myself have engaged cordially in political discussion with fellow players in trade chat on several occasions. In each discussion only a minimal amount of racial slurs were employed and my sexual orientation was only questioned once or twice. By that metric I considered the discussions to have been quite successful and fruitful.

But the sale spam is usually only done by a handful of people so once they’re ignored its gone, but politics would basically be every one in trade
Do a lot of people actually buy runs? Seems counter productive to playing the game for enjoyment lol.
Oh I gotcha. Yeah it depends on your server too. On Tich it’s all sales, everyone. Like if you ignored them all it would be empty. On MG it’s the opposite all politics.
I get the feeling its a case of: more than you’d think, less than you’d hope. In a way it makes sense, buying a few +15s can at least get your foot in the door to get some runs going, and even if it doesn’t, hey at least you got a few vaults! I myself don’t like the idea of me doing it but i have no issues with others buying carries so long as they understand they’re being carried. I’ve met a few people who think they’re awesome because they got aotc, or done +15s in a carry group.
They’re both awful, boost spam is worse because boosting is corrosive to the game and devalues progressing by actually playing it (why play when you can just buy it?). The politics is annoying but has little impact on the game.
I turned trade chat off at the start of WoD when I saw that it was in my garrison. Haven’t had it on since and don’t miss it one bit.
