I get the feeling we are going to see more and more reps move to renown. Renown gives you a more granular step by step approach towards a rep system, where you can be granted a lot of small rewards. Rather than with rep you wait weeks at a time for larger chunks of rewards.
Though I forsee rep staying for smaller side factions.

I don’t even remember what renown does. Like I’m renown 80 and can’t tell what I gained from it.
The only time a found a rep grind to be grueling was netherwing. Other than that, I wasn’t ever really upset with working for something. These are new times, however, and new players. Some of these people want more options, faster paces, and better alt ability.
Rep would be nice if it wasn’t timegated and aquired in a good manner. There was nothing fun about getting to revered in ZM, it didn’t take too long but when I was done with my chores there was no way to progress.
I like both. I just dont like flight being attached to either really.
Rep tabards were awesome. I never heard anyone complain about them.
lol… I made a new hunter and the renown was dropping from everything i did till I got to 80. Went really quick
Not much. Few perks along the way but getting to 80 was lackluster.
Was was even more annoying is you still need to farm rep. They could have at least made that faster once you hit 80.
Renown is better for 2 reasons.
New things are almost always better than old things, with few (if any) exceptions.
Measured, steady progress is better than exponential progress bar. And being able to get my rewards in the spot instead of hunting down a rep vendor is also good.
Realistically, they’re the same thing. “I did this much stuff”. But the newer system is better.

Reps with Tabards. At least you had the choice in what content you want to do with that.
Just as an example, if there was a rep bar for your covenant, you would definitely be exalted by the time you hit max renown. But renown has a much harder time-gating issue than rep. Can’t really grind renown if it works the way it did in SL. So yeah, I prefer rep.
Shifting to renown is just a way of making sure everyone progresses together.
Renown is better because of all the goodies we get. I would in fact love it if they removed reputation completely, it’s the only metric that has me obligated to log on to my old, old main. Enough is enough.
Rep if you can farm it. Renown if you can’t.
If Renown is account wide… Probably Renown.
Rep is just a whole another thing.
Actually, they should probably integrate those two in an account-wide system where all your characters get the benefit of one character getting exalted and renowned in one faction.
Because god-forbid you’re gonna farm for the exact same thing more than one because “mMo eXpeRIeNcE”.
i would say rep,since we’ll have to any way. Renown is just a time gate.
If they’d just bring back the MoP Alt catch up tokens …
Renown Catch up is already done nicely…
I could live with both … if there was any Alt catchup for Reps
Or even Account wide for that matter
