Which healer would be better for a new one?

I just got the new exp and wanted to try to be a healer but i have no idea which one pick, i actually tried all on Dungeons but of course the experience of Random dungeons is different than raids

also i like them all so, this is not a choice of “the one you like most”

so i would like hear your advice for what thing each class of heal is better for raids, dungeons, for new comers, etc

Try Holy Priest or Resto Shaman.

Shaman is FOTM right now.

I have a group waiting, so no time for explanations right now OP, my bad.

All healers are good enough right now but if you want to be meta in M+ pick Rsham and if you want to be meta in raid pick Prevoker.

resto shaman is a good all around pick. it has a strong toolkit with good healing and is pretty easy to pick up for a new healer. it’s also going to be easier to get into groups compared to other healers.

Resto shaman has the most useful utility.

Prepare to have 40 keybinds.

Holy Priest and Resto Shamans are the more traditional kind of healer. Definitely the best place to start for new healers.

In short, I’d say Holy Priest or Resto Shaman.

Resto shaman is great for all forms of content. If you like being super useful in a group setting, they have utility for so many situations that it’s hard not to take one. They’re the meta for a reason.

Holy Paladin and Preservation Evoker are good in a raid setting, but hpal can be a little weird if you’re not used to healing. Evoker’s movement utility makes them feel VERY potent in this raid tier imo, especially with how often you’ll find yourself running around.

In terms of beginner-friendliness, Holy Priest is very straight-forward.

It is a plague in this game currently.

The reason why resto shams are good is because we have a TON of stuff “traditional healers” dont.

This is actually funny. I laughed.

I’m not talking utility. I’m not talking totems. I’m not talking Poison Cleansing Totem or Earthen Wall Totem or Spirit Link Totem. I’m not talking Spiritwalker’s Grace letting you cast on the move for 15 secs. I’m not talking lust.

I’m talking style of healing. You don’t need to do something like dps to heal like Disc Priest, Holy Paladin or Fistweaver. You don’t have a wacky range or empowered spells like Prevoker.

OP is asking what’s good for a new healer, so I’m recommending based on the basics - healing.

Resto sham is currently the best healer, but holy priest tends to be baby’s first healer.

Yeah, I took a moment to look at my priest and I think you’re absolutely right.

I’m changing my answer. Go priest, OP.

Resto shamans are very straightforward , put earth shield on tank , riptide for healing boost and hot and use your heals based on whats happening single target dmg or aoe dmg

u have tons of CDs tho , totems that will heal and cast heals , 2 “stuns” , interrupt and if u have time u can toss some dmg spells

but for a new player that is learning the ropes…

the other healer is Holy priest but the lack of “aoe healing” hurts , yes halo is amazing but outside that and word , there is 0 ways to aoe heal since CoH and Prayer sucks

Resto Druid is the underrated sleeper this season. After the last buff, it’s even better.

As others have said, holy priest and resto sham are probably the easiest to learn. Reactive healers that don’t require much setup compared to others.

Holy is good in raid, mediocre in m+. Sham is really strong in m+ and good in raid.

Reactive healer over pre-active healer if its a first time healing.

To play disc and resto druid well you need to know the damage incomming and start prepping 7~10 seconds in advanced so you can ramp as its comming out. If you mess that up at higher levels there is no way to recover on your own since they lack hit and heal cooldowns.

Shaman and holy priest dont really have that problem since theyve got pretty strong spot healing, a good set of reactive cooldowns and very little ramp.

Holy pally, mw and pre-evoker are somewhere in the middle they have cooldown line ups and some good combos but also decent reactionary buttons when SHTF.
Each has a different gimmick like being in melee, damaging to heal, positoning requirements and reduced range making then a little harder then holy priest and shaman.

Resto Shaman is the easiest healer in the game right now (allegedly) and is by far the best in M+ (though it struggles a little more in raid).

Start there.
