Which healer is the least click intensive?

Hello, long story short; i have limited movement with my right hand and was curious about which class requires the least amount of “whack a mole” to be successful.

As a side note complex ability rotations or a high amount of key presses are OK. It’s just the actual physical movement from raid frame to raid frame that is an issue.

Healing in general lends itself to lots and lots of monitoring raid frames so I’m not sure there will be a satisfying answer to this question for you.

I suppose that would be resto shaman since they are the best at AOE healing and because of that you have to switch less from target to target compared to more single target specs.
But even them will have their fair share of clicking on raid frames.

I’m not sure if healing is the best for you. Healing requires you to be targeting any player on your raid frame.

Yes, resto shaman is a lot of AoE healing, but you’re still going to need to click around.

You might want to try tanking!

For raid healing, it’s Mistweaver.

1/3 of your healing is from a non-targeted, channeled spell, this can jump to 1/2 if you talent Refreshing Jade Wind for more stacked fights.

You can use mouseover macros and keybinds instead of VuhDo/clique and targeting, so you aren’t actually having to click on people ever. But you’re still doing a lot of monitoring people’s raid frames either way.

typically, in a PvE environment with a lot of mechanics, you might have to do a lot more moving unfortunately regardless of what class you choose.

I don’t know if you can set keybinds for targeting players, and if it were possible it would definitely be hard to master. You’d have to do a lot of movement with your hands with targeting damaged players.

you may also need to do some research on your own time to see which class looks the most fun for you! not to be dismissive or unhelpful, but I think a good course of action would to give all healers a shot to see if any of them suit your preferences and playing style.

the most important thing is to have fun, after all! Best of luck with your endeavors

Thanks for the insight all, going to try out Monk/Shaman

Monk and Shammy are fun, I play Resto more but they are both cool.

Keep and open mind with regards to Resto Druid, they are always pretty strong and I love healing on my Druid also.

If healing is something you start to like then give them all a try and find your sweetspot!

/hugs and good luck!

I think Monk is your best bet, you can keep putting ReM on the tank and it will likely bounce by itself to other targets, then vivify is a cleave heal and Essence Font requires no target.

I’ve seen people recommended Shaman too, it’s a good candidate too but I think there’s a bit more movement from your right hand involved since you have to move your cursor out of the frames and even further away to place Healing Rain.

I wonder if theres any way to macro it all enough that you could get away with it mostly one handed?
Resto shaman is brain dead easy for heals which is why I run it.

You shouldn’t be clicking much as a healer anyway.

Mouseover macros are the way to go.

If you used an MMO mouse and mouseover macros you could do most of it with one hand and without clicking to target.

Im reading every comment, so thanks all for the input. I’ll definitely be trying to create some mouse over macros aswell.

If you have melee group it could be druid. Throw down the aoe heal thing then wild growth.

For small groups you may have an easier time using the /targetparty command… it will cycle your target through each of your party members. Obviously would not be very efficient for raid healing.

Hey! If you are interested in raid healing, mistweaver with Essence Font is probably your best bet. Otherwise if you like to do mythic+ or arenas, its not too hard to actually bind your teammates to your mousewheel!

Scroll up - Party 1
Shift + scrollup - Party 2
Scroll down - Party 3
Shift + scroll down - Party 4

Personally, I remap my keyboard so that the Caps lock key acts as the Alt modifier and it opens up a lot more keybinds!

And finally, if you macro your abilities so that you can get a harmful and helpful spell on the same bind, that is more efficient. (Example “/cast [harm]Moonfire; [help]Regrowth”

ah…yeah…maybe one of those 16 thumb button models

There’s hotkeys for each of the party members. (I think) the defaults are F1 (self) and F2-F5 for party members in order.

I would agree that resto shaman is less click heavy in terms of changing targets than say a priest, and has a few “passive” aoes. But some of our key abilities, including our emergency-save-the-group-from-wiping totem, have to be placed. But as others have mentioned, using macros can reduce amount of clicks on any class.
