Tanked my way to KSM last season, and want to heal my way there this season. Can’t decide which healer to choose, though.
Which healer do you find the most fun? Which offers good group utility? Which has the most fun DPS off specs?
Please help me choose…
When I can manage it, Disco is probably the most fun for me.

Resto Shaman is so much fun!

Disc seems tough to PuG with, but it’s such a cool idea.
I do like resto. Plus, enhancement and ele are both pretty fun
I can only comment on shammy and druid for dungeons.
Shaman:
- does more dmg without much effort (one of strongest damage dealing healers)
- strong CDs
- good at burst AOE healing
- excels when people are close together
- has lust
- can reincarnate (cheat death)
- has a stun + slow
- best interrupt in the game
- very mana efficient
Druid:
- less damage and it takes more effort
- style of healing is better for M+ imo
- has battle rez
- has soothe
- savage roar, root, ursol’s, etc
- can heal well on the move and when people are spread
- more flexibility with talents
- more flexibility with covenants
- not many strong “oh crap” CDs
When it comes to actual healing, both are capable of doing high keys. Since druid doesn’t have as many strong CDs, you kind of need to prepare more for AOE damage. Shammy has ascendance, healing tide (which isn’t that strong), vesper totem, and cloudburst for extremely strong aoe healing. They also have SLT (spirit link totem) which is almost impossible to die in. I enjoy both, however after maining shammy I kind of wish druid did a little more damage. With druid if you’re healing you aren’t really doing much damage but with shammy’s vesper totem, flame shocks, and instant lava bursts you can kind of do both. I’m really enjoying druid right now but I’ve spent much less time playing it. They both really have a ton of utility and it’s hard to say which has more. I think it’s close, but maybe I lean toward druid having slightly more/better. A ranged brez is just so nice and soothe is so insanely useful the higher the key level. That being said, when you get to high keys damage becomes really the limiting factor as all healers have enough throughput…and shammy wins in that department hands down.
Oh forgot to mention, I can’t really comment on tier set bonuses since I don’t even have 2 set on either toon. From what I’ve heard they aren’t hugely impactful like dps tier bonuses, though they obviously do help.

RDruid one of the most creative healer classes I ever played.
I also like HPal before the terrible melee dance.

Holy Priest is my personal favorite. I played on in TBC Classic and it still feels very much the same. The good old-fashioned all-around all-purpose one-stop-shop healer.

Personally I hate being at ranged chucking spells so I like the melee healers. All 3 have great group utility too
I’ve heard HPriest will likely use Flash Concentration - and I’ve heard it’s a boring play style.
Anyone like it or dislike it?
After discussing healing with another forum goer months ago, I decided to take up healing. I tried a few different classes, and this is my personal preference:
Priest>Shaman>Pally>Druid
Priest and Shammy felt like easy mode, Pally was good, but didn’t feel as potent, and Druid HoT’s felt odd compared to my normal play style, but definitely felt that it would be better if I simply got good
Holy Priest except in smaller battlegrounds where I prefer a Druid.
i liked mist weaver monking but gave up on it in warlords
Wait. There are other healers?

Likely a good idea because after Warlords, Blizz took away Mistweavers core identity and gave it to Holy Paladin anways.

I switched from dps to healer in SL. After finding resto shaman, it’s been a blast. Good mobility. CC. DPS. Interrupts. Hero. AOE heals and single target. I’d seriously give it a try if you haven’t.
Restro shaman is the most fun. I just love using chain heal
