Easy question here which healer do you feel brings the most to the table?
M+ = I think Druid brings the most between Vers Buff and Brez
Raid = I feel Priest brings most from Fort Buff and Power Infusion.
What are your thoughts ? I feel like Shaman has been left behind.
At least Shaman has hero and a fast interrupt and offensive dispell.
Monk has been left behind. No hero, no Brez…just a DPS and healing buff if they stay in melee.
Oddly, shaman seems like the strongest healer in a pug dungeon environment. It has the shortest interrupt in the game, it has an aoe stun, a group speed up, lust, and more.

Monk and still do some really crazy plays with their teleports. Remember the healer monks in MDI pulling trash into the last boss of Throne?
I don’t know if any other healer could have pulled that off.
Healers are all close enough it really comes down to the dungeons and the meta tank and dps. If Druid dps or tanks being good puts them out. Paladins are kinda in a bad place right now after the changes at the end of season 2, but even that’s mostly just a tuning issue.
Dungeons like this season where group wide EH checks are in vogue, kinda cuts into shamans efficacy. I think next season Shaman will look a lot better, with wizard du jour being the best comps.
And yet monk is still slapping keys and arenas around like it’s nothing.
The question is “what do they bring to the table”…and in the area of utility, the answer is not much compared to everyone else.
But yeah, after their last few rounds of healing buffs, they are doing alright competitively. Although, according to raider.io, the highest keys have been completed by groups without a healer, so that isn’t saying much.
Shaman brings the most to the table, it’s just not anything players will eat

All the healers have decent utility but i’d probably say shaman for keys just because they cover everything a keys group would need besides brez; Hero, short CD interrupt, aoe stun, hard cc, multiple friendly and a hostile cleanse, a knock back.
They have a solution for pretty much every problem affix.
In raids utility feels pretty second to group DR and raw output as long as you have 1 of every raid buff. So i’d say they all pretty close there; maybe shaman and druid pull ahead since aoe sprints can be important for movement some fights and both can run a displacement for add control fights.
MW is the most dominant healer in 10.2.
If I recall correctly, don’t Shaman have a brez that only affects the user?
Doesn’t matter one bit, unless one is pushing m+ past 23ish or raiding in mythic
Reincarnation is nice but has a longer cooldown then brez and generally the healer is the second to last to die; it also cost them an actual good defensive cooldown since blizz’s stated the reason shamans dont have good defensive is because they can self rez even though it still counts against timers.
They also have the brez totem but it has to be down before someone dies like old school soulstone, and doesnt stack over time like a real brez, neither are an actual replacement in keys or raid.
Our self brez is a joke and it’s best used after a wipe to avoid a group run back. If you use on bad, attempt to res during an aoe effect, or get targeted, it’s an instant death.
I was confused by Whelptress’ words. I didn’t know they have not one, but two brez. Both, I guess, are niche. I don’t often see the totem rez in dungeons or raid if that matters. I guess it shares with something else, far more useful, in the tree.
Ironically all the stuff shaman brings have been shown not to really matter.
Resto shamans do well in keys until they hit the top end where externals and defensives have to be used at the right time to survive unavoidable mechanics or massive damage pulses.
We have good recovery healing but nothing really to save anyone from big incoming damage outside of Spirit Link which is a 3min CD and requires placement and people standing in it.
I still feel the class brings alot though utility wise. So long as you’re not going for top 0.1% any class can do, META or not.
Yes, it’s either that 5 min cd totem for 30 secs or earthen wall totem 1 min cd for 15 secs which prevents a lot of damage in raid.
