There are circles upon circles upon circles. you spend more time running around like npc that confused than actually getting to play…
I hope this doesn’t come across as contrarian, but I actually liked the MOTHERLODE 2: RELODED edition of this dungeon. I never liked all the jet pack goblins you could get near the bombfield at the end, during BFA, and the only complaint I had with my one run - so take this for what it’s worth - is that the drills were my least favorite NPC.
Though I believe those are getting nerf batted.
I will admit there are parts of the dungeon that felt like it was a showcase for the new ground effect updates. But I really enjoy how clearly delineated they are.
the new circles are fine. im more talking about how there can be 45 circles and litterally no where safe to stand within 30yards. Then you get back in and effect already happening again. like was goal just to make people not be able play there charaacter unless they can dps on the move.
Yeah, this can be true on the last boss if the mechanics aren’t done correctly. There will be little flying mechs that will “sweep” the arena and occur when someone has the homing missle targeting them. As tank, I can help to minimize the pain of a blocked arena by making sure I’m not tanking the boss adjacent the path of th inbound sweepers.
The third boss did get kinda sporty from her arena. I don’t recall it getting that “tight” in BFA. And then the big green gas clouds from the mechs. That was new, too.
I don’t have any other perspective beyond tanking these so I can’t feel your pain of having difficulty hard casting with so much movement, but I can believe it exists. Heck, those bombs chasing folks is another “mobility favored” mechanic.
That’s been the overarching goal since WoD made casters into turrets.
its not just the bosses. its the trash too. The drills put out bajillion circles. the giant robots in beginning make melee miserable.
Yeah, there’s a lot of dancing going on in that one.
Casters weren’t turrets in Vanilla to MoP? Interesting take.
the only caster that hasnt been a turret is firemage. Any other caster thats been reasonably powerful has been a turret.
Ikr…
Ffffloodgate and ml I despise. Esp the 2nd boss of ml. Fixate on you and gotta runrunrunrunrunrunrunrun.
Okay, perhaps classic to Cata.
But I recall in MoP warlocks being able to cast Malefic Grasp and shammies being able to cast Lightning Bolt while moving, and after the WoD pre-patch people pointing out the loss of cast-while-moving abilities.
Unless my overall memory has deteriorated since then, which is absolutely a possibility given my alcohol intake.
