Which classes are the golden child so far this expansion?

And which classes have been the redheaded stepchildren? (no offense to gingers, you’re cuties)

In my opinion:

Golden children:
Shaman
Paladin
Maybe death knight?

Redheaded step children:
Monks

Pour one out for our drunk spinny bois

Is there a class for “M+ players who blame Delvers for everything?”

Rogue probably belongs in the bottom too.

Pretty telling when every Rogue you run into is Sin… the last time I saw an Outlaw Rogue was in TW during TBC week.

Druids and Warlocks are usually spoiled rotten

Monks don’t exist, DKs just get left in broken state

In terms of Alpha/Beta and post-launch attention, not parses and balance tuning

DKs
Paladins
Warlocks (specifically Demo)
Evokers

Monks and Rogues are definitely the red-headed step children this expansion.
I would have also listed Hunters too, but we’re actually getting attention as of late.

I just wished they had actual class developers that played the class to begin with.

I don’t understand why we keep “iterating” for the sake of iteration. Like, BM Hunter was perfectly fine in DF, and somehow we needed to “fix” it into this absolute garbage we’ve had so far.

Arcane mages. Look at what they did to our boy sobs

Cant disagree, but do you know how weird that feels. As a shaman

Its a spec. Not a class… Right up there with their off spec “delvers who blame M+ players for everything”. Which is much more common.

As a long time shaman player, I feel you mon

Feels like non-core classes don’t get any attention unless they’re sufficiently high on the gimmick scale, the ceiling of which moves up every time a new class gets introduced. So if tinkers become a thing and somehow out-gimmick evokers, I fully expect demon hunters to be the next class to become derelict and abandoned.

This doesnt feel like a “non core class” thing though.

Just the natural ebb and flow of class balance

Paladin (after rework)
Priest
DK
Shaman
Augs since they were introduced. Still will be after reworks.

Of the 5 probably Paladin, Shaman and DK get the crowns.
Paladin - Retribution and Protection Paladin in a good spot. Retribution changes have made it both easy to play and very strong. Protection Paladin changes gave it pretty decent damage while already being very good with it’s utility.

Shaman - Much needed rework brought this class into it’s own. Great and easy healer especially with Totemic. Tempest was kinda nutty for quite a while for the DPS specs.

DK - Pretty good representation at the start and is still good for 8-10s. Blood drops off after because DS changes at the start made it really bad for key scaling. Frost really good in general and UHDK good for organised groups.

Probably Paladins, Mages and, maybe, Shaman.

Rogues tend to be the most overlooked.

The weird thing about shaman being so good is that they aren’t that different from DF. It feels like the meta and M+ changes lifted them up more than anything else.

And while BrM and WW monks aren’t great, MW is actually really good right now. It’s just that nobody wants to play it.

Hero talents for enhance definitely helped. Even with Tempest being reduced beyond 5, having an ability for larger AE packs was pretty big.

But yeah, over all not much changed for enhance.
