I’m pretty excited about playing WOTLK Fresh, and want to main a DK. I’m not a no-lifer (no objections to those that are) that can play 16-20 hours a day, so I will really just be picking something to get me to 55 quickly enough to get after leveling the DK.
Mage isn’t an option because I really dislike the playstyle, but I am leaning towards warrior (admittedly not the fastest, but I love prot in 3.3x), hunter or warlock.
Anyone else thinking about what you want to get to 55 for the DK unlock?
def hunter/lock paladins a decent runner up because you can tank dungeons so youll have an easier time finding groups for dungeon spams

Hunter, druid, lock, mage. All of these are very fast.
Whichever class you decide to no life for a week-ish.

a class that can queue as tank and healer… so pick your fav between pally and drood.
Just a reminder that our first DK has lifted requirements.
- The Rise of Death Knights – Available to both factions and starting at level 55, Death Knights—World of Warcraft’s first hero class—harness the powers of darkness to help combat the evil that threatens Azeroth. While Death Knights are limited to one per server and require a level 55 character on that server to create, in Wrath Classic, we will be bypassing that requirement for a player’s first Death Knight.

So it sounds like if you have any 55+ toon on any faction/server right now you are covered and should be able to roll a DK on fresh from day 1 they are available.
I believe that is meant for realms that are continued progression, or there would be a lot of level 55’s at the same time every other class is starting from level 1. I cannot see this happening under any circumstances. I get how the wording makes it seem as such though.
Not for fresh realms though.
Let’s hope we get clarification on that. Right now the wording is rather vague.
They have mentioned this explicitly somewhere. You need a 55 on the fresh realm to make a DK.
So theoretically you could hunter to 55 then make a DK then take the DK to 80 and that might be the fastest.

So you can play 15 hours a day?

For wrath era leveling, warlock.
Tab dot aoe/mass pull… You’re a bit slower to get going than hunter early on, but hunters are largely single target Andys, while wrath era affliction just tab dots, without their health bar moving like they would on retail. By wrath levels they can even tab dot pull 10 mobs then stand there casting hellfire while getting attacked and still not lose significant health. Basically affliction lock is playing retail while leveling while hunters are still playing vanilla

With 6-8 weeks of the XP buff? Pick any class and enjoy. This is 50% additional XP for everything on top of the TBC XP nerf.

They announced that you won’t need a 55 or higher character to make a DK
Except for fresh realms, which is where I plan to play.
Probably whichever character you buy the boost on. Most of us already have 70s though, so it really doesn’t matter.
