Which Class to Level

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are doing well. I am conflicted cause I want to level a shaman in TBC anniversary since I like both Ele and Enhancement but I keep hearing there is a tank shortage right now. I actually like Tanking and want to learn and want to actually tank without charging services for it just for the experience and to get gear but now I am conflicted. Should I just level a shaman since they are also needed in endgame or do you think its better to actually level a tank to help people in the endgame? If I should level a tank, which one is best to use. Thank you and hope to hear from you all soon!!

I mean if you enjoy tanking I think you definitely should level one! Not highly tbc experienced, but afaik the best tanks are Bear and Pally. Former the best raid tank and latter the best dungeon tank, although interchangeable.

Tanks are highly sought after so you’ll never have a problem getting groups.

Or, just play shaman. They’re supposed to be really good in tbc! Healer or dps.

Tanks are in an odd spot so you should probably think about what content you are wanting to do yourself.

If you plan on raiding, tanks are actually the last thing needed in groups needing some pugged players. At least from what I see.

The tank shortage (which I have no problems finding any) are just in 5 mans like heroics. Going a tank class will for sure get you instant invites, but you may actually struggle a bit finding a raid spot.

Shaman is a great choice imo. I would suggest leveling as enhance while gathering resto off gear. It’s really nice being able to get into 5 mans instantly with this setup.

As for raids on shaman you can literally get into a raid at any time of day as any spec within 10 minutes of signing up.

If you are going to spam tons of dungeons go for tank, you’ll never have to look for a group.

If you want to raid and see a lot of the end-game shaman is probably a better pick overall. Guilds want a lot of them so they’re easy to get picked up as. Tank slots are pretty important and hard to get slotted into with an established guild, and ideally tanks will need to build offsets for if they don’t need a certain number for a given fight.

Thanks for the response this helps!

IMO both, alternating.
Rested exp will stack to 150% of a level.

Tell the folks at home how well I am doing.

There is always a tank shortage in dungeons, in every version of WoW, forever.

Shaman is great though.

Eh tank shortage for dungeons but a shaman shortage for raids.

Its way too late to be leveling now. so just concentrate on your current level 70.

Thats just not true at all.

according to the chat, this game is in dire need of buyers for SP/SV/SL boosts, layer invites, and 1 more tank

the player base is so disrespectful to tanks or bad that I wish you luck on the venture. I actually have a fully geared druid tank and I stopped leveling my 65 prot pally because i can not deal with all these dps who think its about their ability to max dps while i tank

Yeah I heard about that but its nothing new to me lol I am a cop in real life and used to be shat on just for doing my job but as long as people are protected that is all that matters, same with tanking hahaha

Maybe you should just skip these group and go for normal groups I would suggest skipping aoe farming speedrunner groups then… go for normal groups formed by urself with normal spevs

Or you know, join a guild.

Level your Shaman, playing a class you dont necessarily like will end up feeling like a chore. And in the end, if you really want to tank, you can always use a paid boost.

Well then enjoy the cesspool of PUG groups where people can’t play their classes properly.

Call me a masochist but I actually do enjoy some variety of skill in my groups. I’ve done too many runs where everyone is blasting through stuff where it gets boring.

Do two weeks of people who semi struggle where you feel like you’re carrying and not sure if you’ll kill something then going back to a high skill group is way more fun.
