Just curious about this…
Warriors, because most raids only run 1.
Ret Paladins, because most raids only run 1.
That’s about it tbh.
pretty sure he means real classic… to answer the question dont play pally. thats it haha
Dont play warlock unless for pvp
Dont play ret or enh shaman for pve
Dont play druid at all
Dont play priest for leveling
I wouldn’t recommend warrior, weakest class in the game without being carried through tiers for their gear, which they rely on to compete. Until you get there it’s a miserable experience where you’re helpless in PvP without being babysat by healers. Everyone else is able to hold their own with a certain niche to their class. I should have went with Mage, one of the most versatile and self-sufficient classic classes.
Druid is one of the easiest and fastest classes to level solo in Classic, with a lot of diverse playstyles (even if none are very competitive in end-game). If you intend on playing casually, I’d highly recommend Druid.
Honestly, having a 4 other Mages keeping that massive ignite up was so good. trying to keep the the ignite stack going was a nice mini-game when raiding.
Ret, Boomy, Enh, & Ele are the big no’s if you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into
Some classes have glaring flaws but they all can contribute something. A class that’s not fun for you personally is the one to avoid. Dont worry about making the ‘wrong choice’ on character creation because, even if 40 levels later you wind up hating the toon, you still gain understanding with how that class functions in a group which makes you a better player overall.
Adding to this: druids can skin and gather herbs in their animal forms. This might seem minor but once you gain the increased movespeed that comes with catform/travelform, it makes a huge QoL improvement for those proffessions.
All classes are fun, just be aware if you roll a class with a healing spec, you will be a healer at end game. If you want to dps you’ll have to roll a pure dps class or a warrior.
just roll warrior bro
Never played mage, priest, or hunter in classic. They never intrigued me. They’re obviously worthwhile though.
Warrior, shaman, druid, paladin, rogue, warlock - played all of those at max level over the years. They’re all worthwhile.
Only caveat is that warlocks kinda suck to play in 40 man raids on classic era because of the debuff limit. That debuff limit did not exist in SoM, which allowed you to actually press your buttons in raid, rather than just mash shadow bolt. To a lesser extent, druids and rogues also felt better on SoM.
TLDR every class works in classic. It just depends what you want from the game. Warriors and hybrid healers (sham/pal/druid) are the most rewarding if you can sink a lot of time into the game. Other classes are there if you can’t.
edit - i was in the wrong forums. My bad.
