Hey all.
Curious which class and race would be considered the most viking like?
Warrior could be a given. Vikings being a warrior culture.
Then again, shaman could fit really well too. Viking culture’s connection with nature, and being more tribal fit the theme.
Druid not as much but I could see the connection when it comes to nature based healing and balance’s focus on the stars.
Whatcha guys think? Which class is most ‘Viking-like’ to you?
As for race - I’d go:
Alliance - Human or Dwarf. Human for the warrior. Being decedents of vykrul and all.
Dwarf for the more nature based viking, plus the tattoo’s remind me of vikings a bit.
Horde:
Orc is an easy one. Clans, warrior culture, etc.
Tauren could be good - similar to dwarf in the more nature, elements focused way.
Dwarf Warriors for sure. I’m actually sad that’s not a clan of the Dwarfs now. I don’t even play Alliance.

Nobody regrets rolling a Dwarf. Just saying.
Do it. You’ll have a blast.

Female Kul Tiran Shaman. The dance alone screams pagan.
I think survival hunter would fit the theme here too.
Vrykul are for sure the most Viking like. Soooo, Vrykul Warrior with the Kyrian covenant. I’d wear the WotLK Mog from Utguarde Pinnacle.

Looks like the majority vote warrior. Makes sense!
I really regretted rolling a dwarf.
That’s why I no longer have a dwarf.

I wish they had given us Drust instead of Kul Tirans. They could have been a shorter version of Vrykul, another step in that evolutionary chain, and we could be running around as Vikings right now.

I had a female dwarf priest that I abandoned in Vanilla after spending all that time leveling her. It didn’t help I made her as ugly as possible and then myself was unable to stomach looking at her
Sorry, I just got sick of waddling everywhere like an overweight duck with a pair of hammers.

Warrior of any kind, the legion hall is legit Odins realm. Orcs and Dwarves both have a very warrior based culture, the orcs kind of have a “Conan the barbarian” thing going for them. Dwarves are… well… you’ve seen one and you’ve seen em all.
Murlocs of no matter what class make fine Vikings as they are seafaring, attack in raid groups and are feared by everyone (even Vrykul in Stormheim fear them).
There should be a Murloc Viking Lord named Jarl Jorgenjurglglglgl.
A Murlocs battle cry should be Fus roh Mrglglgl!!

Warrior, Rogue, Hunter, Paladin, Priest, Shaman/Druid and Mage/Warlocks. Now, hear me out.
Warrior - Easy pick. Everyone knows the iconic imagery of the buff Viking Warrior on the deck of a ship, with a big axe in his hand.
Rogue - A lot of people make the mistake for thinking that Vikings didn’t have their own rogues or ninjas. Wanna know how they got into a lot of camps, bases and kingdoms? They have a few elite vikings that knew how to be quiet and get inside. Then they open the gates for everyone else to run in.
Hunter - Vikings were well known for having intimate knowledge of their land. If they weren’t raiding, then they were praying, farming or hunting. Not to mention, they would have made great scouts for the team.
Paladin and Priest - This one might sound odd too, but it actually fits very well. Vikings actually did have their own Priests. They prayed to the Gods for their Blessings, especially Odyn. Some even considered themselves the champion of the Gods (Paladin).
Shaman/Druid - Shaman and Druid are two sides of the same coin, in both WoW and the real world. Vikings had their own Shaman as well, almost like Priests in a way. They were more nomadic. Living out in tents or huts on the edge of towns. You would go to them for medicine or to receive a vision from the Gods. Druids serve the same purpose. They even believed in Skinwalkers (Druids), much like the Native Americans did.
Mage/Warlock - This is probably the least picked professions of the Vikings, but there is a good chance that the 2nd in command to the Chieftain would serve as a practitioner of Arcane or Infernal magics. They would likely give advice on what the rulings should be, as well as protect the throne with their magics.
I hope this helps!
