Which class is fun?

want to level my first toon in classic to 60 problem is idk what to level.

Hunter- got to 40’s but it was alright… not my style
Mage - i play one in retail

Im currently looking at Paladin, Shaman, Warrior, or Druid.

im trying to get back into healing for retail come Shadowlands so i don’t mind healing in classic. idc really on if a class is OP or not i just want to be able to raid and PvP. this is just for fun as well im going to be prioritizing Retail over classic but im trying to take a little break from retail atm.

Go druid there isn’t enough druids anyway and who doesn’t like turning into a bear?

Define “fun” for me.

Based on what you said I would say go Shaman.

Very desired healer for PVE and you can go Ele and have fun in BGS decimating people. Very easy to gear Ele with ZG being out.

If you want to heal in PVP I would say go Priest or Paladin.

I’ll second what Vol above said. Shaman is pretty fun and desired in raids.

I wouldn’t bother practicing healing in classic for retail. The two are so different that it’s hardly comparable. I’d just do it for the fun of it.

Warriors will hump you for windfury totem. If you are into that.

In pvp shaman generally go Ele to blow things up but also spot heal their team as support. The 30/0/21 build is strong in BGs.

Druid is the most fun overall BUT it starts out boring, level 20 and higher starts getting good
Shaman… wasn’t for me, felt “clunky”
Paladin…never got far with one…so BORRrring
Warrior, have done 3, to 60, challenging /frustrating at times

Druid is easily the most fun class, but it is the hardest to understand and play well. Druids can’t overpower anything, they have to work for everything. If you’re good, druids are amazing. If you’re bad, they’re terrible.

lets not get any false notions to people. If you are good druids are good, if you are bad, they are terrible is more accurate. That said the class is fun to play, every victory just needs to be earned and a small hiccup means your death usually.

I personally think it is better off to go for Warrior with two weapons, which seems cool and also powerful.

All of them except shaman.

  1. DON’T roll any class that has a healing spec. If you have a healing spec, there’s 99% chance that RL would ask you to raid as a Healer. And raid healing is brain dead. Also, you are completely useless outside raid, unless you wanna respec every week which costs 50g.

  2. DON’T roll a tank, unless you are a hardcore player who would never miss a single raid. Atm, most of the top guilds are having a reliable roster of tanks anyways.

Based on the above two rules, you have Rogue, Hunter, Mage, Warlock, and Warrior left. Among these classes, Rogue, Hunter, and Mage are the most fun.

And spamming frostbolt/shadowbolt isn’t?

I assume this actually means, “You can’t farm efficiently”.

Only character I find “fun” out of that bunch is mage. But mages are a dime-a-dozen, and hunters are basically tranq-shot bots in raids.

I started on a hunter and quit at 30 because there was no challenge that it was boring. Mage was my first toon to 60 and leveling that was a blast. Leveling. Raiding was 1 button spam.

If you like having a rotation of some kind, now’s a great time to level a warrior, rogue, or even feral druid with ZG out and all.

Did OP ever say what “fun” was to them or provide anymore details about what they’re looking to do?

Don’t play a paladin if you want to have fun in Classic my friend.

considering you only need 1 max per raid, I’d say there are enough druids.

If you plan to heal as horde I’d suggest priest as you won’t have to face purge, you can mana burn paladins, and have more instants available. Both shadow and disc are great in pvp. Dropping totems all the time gets old pretty quick, so i’d think hard before choosing Shaman.

DPS classes are fun in raid because of parse.

Mage, rogue, and hunter can do a ton of solo farms outside of raid, that’s what make them fun, as you literally have more options playing this game besides raid logging.

better pick something quick then, the longer you are “behind” the harder it will be for you to level since there’s hardly any people out there leveling alts. I said hardly, meaning there isn’t a lot of players in the zone on the same quests as you.

At this rate, you might as well be looking at server pops to find one that you think you’ll like. THEN see what guilds are looking for, or have Open Recruitment. And have them help boost your leveling to get you caught up, as well as attunement runs.

I’ll save you some time. Just mail me your gold already.
