Which Ammo Version?

Do you guys like it where you had to buy/make ammo for your hunter, or do you prefer what it is now where it’s infinite?

No, it was tedious.

It was just an extra inconvenience. Like needing a material in your bags to cast a class buff.

Very much prefer what we have now, but I’d love some way to do like… Special ammo that isn’t just an enchant.

Also bring back quivers/boltpouchs/bullet bags as a cosmetic.

It was interesting for the first 10 levels, then it just became annoying. It doesn’t add anything but an extra stop whenever you’re in town.

I think buying food for pets and ammo had more of an mmo feel

as an mmo its fine as is. when it was pushed more as an mmorpg then ya ammo and food for pets was a good idea

I agree. But now that the game is designed as more of just an endgame instanced e-sport rather than an rpg, it doesn’t really fit anymore.

I like the idea of it.

In execution for Classic tho, while i don’t hate it, it could’ve been a lot better. Like different variation of ammos to be used on a fly here, or having moves take only ammo and not auto attacks. Or make it a little more skill-based.

Or maybe, just maybe, different gun stats, like shotguns, gasp, acting like shotguns with it’s wide spread and range, and rifles with automatic feed mags with like 30 rounds.

I kind of disagree with this. I agree with the part about the game being esports focused, which causes a go go go mentality. However, it would be nice if hunters had the ability similar to DKs rune forging. Let us apply explosive ammo, frost ammo, etc. to our ranged weapon.

Yeah that would be somewhat cool. Maybe something you might switch up for single target vs aoe, etc. But I assume you mean as something you’d set and just have and keep on until you change it (like runeforging), not as multiple stacks of ammo you need to constantly replenish.

Correct, set it and forget it…so to speak.

So the old exotic munitions talent that added a DoT, slow, or AoE to Autoshot?

I dunno, with weapon runes and oils for melee and casters or engineering-made ammo for hunters, seems to be about equivalent since they’re already exists the ammo to apply a DOT or AOE effect. When it comes to set and forget, the equivalent to Rune forges and weapon enchants would be the Scopes rather than the ammo.

I disliked the extra bag, though returning the Ammo slot could allow for the use of enhanced ammo without the need for us to carry it in our bags.

Ammo choice should be a class buff though (mid direct damage vs higher damage over time vs lower damage + snare).
Much better than wasting item slots on it.

Nope.

Yep

The ammo cost gold. I kept running out of it and it took up bag space. I don’t miss it.

If I had to buy/make ammo, I would never play hunter.

By all means bring it back as an extra tax on hunter players.

It was ridiculous for two main reasons that basically punished you for playing the class at all compared to other classes. Inventory and money. It cost money for every bullet or arrow fired. You had to pay to dps. No other class had anything remotely as punishing. And the more you paid for higher quality ammo, the more damage you could do. And that ammo took up lots of space.
