Where's the Shadowlands news?

So…it’s been nearly 5 months (start of April will be literally, not figuratively, five months) since BlizzCon 2019 and the announcement of Shadowlands.

Not looking to pile on negativity or anything like that, but the amount of new information coming out about Shadowlands following BlizzCon has amounted to figurative (not literal) crickets chirping.

So…where’s the Shadowlands news?

Didn’t they start Alpha or are about to? Thought I saw that a short time ago.

They’ll give us new info when they’re ready.

WoW players are so impatient, good lord.

Encrypted alpha builds keep rolling out. Bound to open the gates eventually, but the silence just means they aren’t ready right now. You must be patient young grasshopper.

Im kind of shocked they havent done any real NEW marketing for it… or some new exciting screen shots at the very least would keep the hype train rollin but the hype train died months ago with no new info, no new screenshots and no real info.

Ill keep checking wowhead but really it has me smh in wonder at their lack of initiative. Like its cool - you need till December? Ok. But give us something.

To be honest, a lot may be slowing down right now with all of the issues. California is one of the quarantined states where a lot of people are working from home. Sure, it’s possible, but it’s not as easy or effective especially with the lack of tools.

Honestly, I hope they’re focused on ironing out their ideas before the beta gets launched. They have a lot to prove with this next expansion, and I can’t imagine the stress of the current environment is helping.

Maybe Blizzard is waiting for the 6 month mark.

I wonder is something major is going on in the world, that might be slowing down their ability to easily get people together.

It’s called a global pandemic. The US has the most active amount of Covid-19 cases in the world right now. Expect delays and many of them in regards to Shadowlands release.

Look at Wowhead. There’s Alpha Builds every week. They may be encrypted, but its development.

It’s probably the American virus that is putting half the world on lock down atm. Probably has something to do with productivity slowing down a touch no?

I believe BfA alpha started in Feb., I started first beta in April. I’m really surprised we haven’t heard anything and I really don’t believe the shut down has anything to do with it cuz these people do all their work on computers which we all know can be done anywhere if you’ve got one

I think current world events put a damper on it?

They probably are weighing the possibilities, of it being delayed as well as Blizzcon being delayed. Either one, or both, could logically happen. So that might be why we don’t hear much.

Takes a special mindset to call it that.

I think they took on too much of a workload and a combination of factors has them behind now. Old world leveling and scaling alone is a ton of work to figure everything out. Then they still need to do the new stuff and with current events it pushes them further behind. At my job if you fall behind you stay late. Based in bfa effort blizzard is 9 to 5 only.

With the virus thing going, I think it would be boss if they just gave everyone early access to alpha…

Corona and lime

Disaster that would be. Alpha and beta servers typically are designed to handle only a limited amount outside of stress testing on rare occasions. Plus it’s for ironing out bugs and other issues. The majority of the playerbase wouldn’t do that.

Welcome to the human race, friend!
