Where's Premonition?

I recently started playing again and noticed that the Oracle has lost its Premonitions; healing as Oracle Disc feels pretty bland now. It’s great being able to spam penance and giving big shields, but Premonitions were the Oracle’s highlight, it was fun to play around it. Why remove what made it unique? The Voidweaver has its Entropic Rift AND Penance.

Edit: Now Oracle doesn’t have a “signature” spell

They tried rotating style spells multiple ways and it seems they weren’t happy with them so they got removed.

I for one am glad they’re gone.

Twinsight, guiding light, and piety are what set oracle apart from voidweaver imo. That and the general focus on holy spells.

Twinsight and guiding light makes you spam Penance, which I like it pretty much as I said before. But, having an upgraded version of a spell isn’t appealing, I think it is nice to have a signature. Before I was playing around the premonitions, now I’m a penance bot-ish? (Notice I’m not speaking about effectiveness, but the feeling of playing with)

A lot of hero trees are like that though. I get what you are saying, but yeah, Oracle got demoted because Blizzard doesn’t want spells that people are commonly making WA to track.

They removed it in favor of horrible talents like Piety and base 2x penance because it was too complicated or something for people to figure out. ( s2/s3 tww oracle disc was super fun and I loved it so much it was the first time I rolled another healer other than monk in 10+ years xD )

The spec/hero tree is a shell of it’s former self and is pretty boring. Plus they overnerfed it hard over like 4 weeks which didnt help. It was more fun early beta testing but the over nerfing really made it feel worse every week. Atonement feels horrible rn, esp on oracle. Uppies and barrier being on the same node doesnt help too.

Till they add in a way to tune m+ and raid separately via talents/tuning knobs like atonement this is going to keep happening for disc tho. They cant seem to figure it out. Overnerf / Overbuff, repeat.

I know, its truly remarkable. No clue what these bozos are doing to our beautiful class design from tww.

This would be awful. Ideally your character performs the same in all environments. It’s bad enough we have pvp modifiers for spells.

It wasn’t though and them trying to “make a spec perform the same in all environments” and over nerfing is why the spec is in this mess rn. The goal with tuning knob abilities like I mentioned is to get classes to perform well in all content, those knobs give them tools and they kinda already exist in game to some degree.

If you were following beta testing Disc was overperforming hard in raid beta testing. The frequent nerfs after that testing phase each week affected m+ toolkit/talents too much.

They weren’t really overperforming in m+ on beta ( they were solid but not as overpowered compared to in raid ) and the frequent nerfs hit them from all angles, making their m+ healing “worse” when it really couldn’t take many nerfs to begin with. ( we shrugged off the first set but the second, third and fourth sets of nerfs were really showing in higher m+ )

They need a way to tune disc in raids raids without breaking them in m+ and the other way around. So they can achieve decent performance in all environments. ( Something major disc players like automaticjak have been asking for for some time now ).

Something that can probably be done by having atonement scale better depending on group size. ( The Mistweaver talent misty coalescence is a good example of a talent that does this )
