Hate to say it but datamined items aren’t necessarily introduced in the patch they are datamined in. Most of those 300+ items were still marked DNT (Do Not Test) and Autogen (probably AI Generated) so they weren’t ready for prime time,
As an example, We just got access to the nether-swept drake mount which was first datamined during TBC with the other netherdrakes.
The various “news” sites don’t help. Wowhead published a breathless piece about the datamined chainkini in 2022. That didn’t turn up in game until this year.
This description took me OUT lol. You’re not wrong in any respect though. The news sites grinding away and writing checks Blizzard never promised to cash is a huge part of this issue.
There must be a pinch of decor that came out with the new content.
I know that non pvp, pvp has like 3 pieces or so. Which means I will spend that much time doing it.
There is some from Decor Duels, some from the Abyss Diving thing, and some from the Void Strikes/ Ritual sites.
Definitely disappointing. While I knew not to expect all datamined stuff to absolutely show up, I had hoped that some of it would. Well, at least more than actually did. Sadly, all that came through was more blood elf, void elf, and amani stuff… as if we didn’t already have enough of that.
I hope this is not what we should come to expect from major patches… 18 pieces, and again ONLY stuff tied to the current story? Hard to see where other stuff will ever fit in if your race/faction is not in the spotlight.
I feel that.
I mean, I don’t begrudge the belves their stuff, this is their expansion. I just wish they’d give us other color options, like they did with the transmogs. There’s so much red.
I actually want most of the stuff from the Void Strike vendor. And the troll dude has a hammock!
Yeah, I don’t either. In fact I like most of it. I just wish they were dedicating at least a fraction as much time to other races/factions as well, ensuring everyone was always getting a trickle of new decor. Otherwise I worry that most races will never get anything until they’re the focus of an expansion or major patch. Which for some might be never.
Yeah, I share that concern. I find myself wishing housing had come earlier, so more of the Night Elf assets from Emerald Dream/Amirdrassil were available. And Night Elves aren’t even that hard up for stuff.
I hope a major patch like 12.1.0 does offer more. Though more in the way of house customization with new exterior/interior styles, hopefully wall paint/dye, and new floors as well. Along with new decor.
I think 12.0.5 is actually considered a minor patch. Though it does give more than many many patches that occurred before Dragonflight.
Fingers crossed, I hope so as well.
I guess I differ from most here, as most posts on this board are more focused on new features/customizations, while I’m more interested in new decor. I actually think progress on major features has been pretty solid, and there isn’t too much I’m currently desperate for at the moment. Exporting room templates would be nice for QoL, but wouldn’t really change the experience much. Pets and alts would be fun but not something I need to have ASAP. Exterior styles… I can definitely see that for many players, though I was perfectly content even with the most basic human exterior.
I’ve mentally tagged 12.1 as sort of a litmus test on what to expect of housing going forward. Well, I had for 12.0.5 as well, but as you noted a 0.5 patch is not the same as a 1.0 patch, whether considered major or minor. A 1.0 patch should be as good as it gets outside of an expansion release. But right now rumors are that 12.1 will take place on that amani island, and I fear that we will only get 50+ new decor for a race that isn’t even playable, while the rest will still sit at the same number they were released with. But I am still holding out hope Blizzard will spread the love. If not, then I really will assume that races will rarely if ever get decor unless they’re the focus of the story.
Re: more dyeing and exterior options. It drives me crazy that dying the roof of the blood elf exterior leaves tons and tons of red everywhere. It just looks bad. I hope it means high and void elf exteriors are coming– shocked they wouldn’t just multipurpose the blood elf one actually–, but regardless it looks weird even if you’re trying to use colors that aren’t blue or purple.
I try to keep this one updated as much as I can, while avoiding anything datamined:
Some of them are from the void events others from the hide n seek games.
From what I saw on others it looks like theyre possibly endeavor rewards but who knows lol.
