Where'd all the leveling dungeons go?

I’m leveling an alt and I’ve noticed there’s a lot of dungeons missing all of a sudden. WOTLK only offers nexus and UK, even though I’m level 55. I also checked classic/cata dungeons, I have no access to anything from cata, and the list for classic dungeons is missing BRD, Deadmines, Dire Maul, LBRS, RFC, RFD, Scholomance, SFK, Stratholme, Sunken Temple, Uldaman, Wailing Caverns, and Zul’Farrak

Haven’t seen any info about this and I’m seeing a lot of folks having the same issue where all of a sudden there’s almost nothing in the dungeon pool

I’ve gotten dire maul, scholomance, stratholme, and wailing caverns.

I think chromie might have something to do with it. You can pick whatever expansion you want to level in and most people aren’t choosing oldschool content because the graphics have been left to rot for the most part.

It narrows down the choices so queues are better. The RDF has to find players for lesser number of dungeons which just speeds up dungeons queues.

If I could upload a link or picture I would show you those are literally missing from my dungeon pool, I couldn’t get them even if I manually queue’d

I think once your out of that content’s level range it also limits what you can access by the rdf.

You have to hope someone else at the right level queuing gets the dungeon, and the rdf matches you with them.

Also don’t forget chromie time

This is in chromie time, and the dungeons have always said 10-60 since the update. It’s since then that they’ve also removed the dungeons from the pool…I’ve had the same dungeons since level 10 with no changes.

I’m glad to find someone else has noticed this and brought it up. I recently deleted my character after realizing chromie time would be locked out for me past 59 and have exp locked my new character.

Initially everything was fine, I saw all the original dungeons in the dungeon finder, now I only see 9 dungeons total when I go into ‘specific dungeon’ 3 of which are for Maraudon.

My char is level 59 now but like you said, all the dungeons claimed to go from 1-60 so I don’t know what the problem is.

I deleted and recreated my character specifically so I could play at my own pace and enjoy all the old content. I exp locked my toon and assumed everything would be fine. Seems there are more bugs with this game or “features” that the player has no way of knowing until it is too late.

I love chromie time but I hate that it is so restrictive and I hate how blizzard doesn’t care about older content and just rushes/forces all players into the latest expansion.

I was planning on doing the dungeons in a particular order, based on original levels. I completed RFG as my first dungeon and planned to do Deadmines later.

Now I’m trying to queue for Deadmines on my exp locked level 59 character and it is nowhere to be found along with nearly every other classic dungeon.

I just cant seem to win with blizzard. They change one thing, screw up another. Add new features, tack on unnecessary restrictions, forcing player choice once again.

I recently had a ticket I opened cause I didn’t get credit for completing a quest and I received an automated response closing the ticket. So far I’ve received no support or assistance and continue to find strange unexplained mechanics that prevent me from playing the way I want.

This is exactly what my dungeon finder is showing. It’s infuriating. I make an effort to experience lock my character at 59 so I can enjoy older content and then they remove all the dungeons from the dungeon finder…

Thank you for taking the time to understand why I am posting lol I thought I was taking crazy pills for a bit there

Wouldnt it be great if chromie time included all dungeons from every xpac? It’s random so it wont be an issue, as the game will pick one tgen fill the queue.

Sad that whomever made the decisions here decided to limit access.

I made a post advocating for Chromie Time All The Time.

Locking the player out at 60 is completely unnecessary and ruins an otherwise very useful feature.

It’s mind boggling to me how you can “out level” the ability to queue for older dungeons. That’s why I xp locked my char, I don’t think I’ll ever level to 60.

I can at least enable level scaling for all areas, even if dungeon finder doesn’t work, which is a huge thing to just take away from a player once they hit 60.

Youre almost penalized for progress. You’d think you’d be able to do more at max level not less…

So sad how mismanaged this game has become.

In FFXIV, its so simple, all dungeons are available, all the time. I like the time travel idea with Chromie Time, and in general it works but it gets bogged down by restrictions and ruined by “features” that remove dungeons from the dungeon finder list.

One funny thing I realized. If you go into the Adventure Guide, you can see the game recommending you to queue for those dungeons. I found a “find group” button for Deadmines. If I click it though it just brings up the DF and I cant queue for it.

Just another one of those dumb things that makes no sense.

Chromie Time isnt necessarily a new feature either. These problems shouldnt be happening.

I hope/pray they will fix it but I’m very doubtful.

I noticed too, one dungeon over and over again for MoP. A random queue of one, what’s up with that? The toon I queued with was level 52 and up, dungeons say 10-60 yet there is only one. I think I looked at other Chromie times and it was the same or similar with very few dungeons available.

Chromie was the only reason I even played during SL, what a waste if they let this slide by.

I just find it weird that blizz is removing dungeons from the pool with zero word on it. In the age of “we communicate I promise” it’s a very obvious thing to ignore

If Blizzard / WoW got a team to work on Classic to Wrath of the Lich King dungeons, and mark them up for a few to be in Mythic+ and the rest be more viable / in the choice selection again for levelling characters – That’d be neat.

I say a team to work on it, because I’d imagine the coding would be a bit of a nightmare. However if they also buffed up some of the graphics on those dungeons, that’d be neat too.

I find it weird too. Chromie time isnt a new system either. I cant think of a reason why this would be happening now which makes me think it is more an intended “feature” than it is a bug.

Also, queueing for dungeons is a fundamental part of the WOW experience. For something like this to be broken is a pretty big issue.

While I know the “solution” is to simply report the “bug” to the bug report forums, it doesnt ensure anything will get fixed or answer the question as to whether or not it’s even a bug to begin with.

Blizzard seems to be overwhelmed with support issues at the moment with the release of Drangonflight. Which sounds like they dont have the needed manpower to effectively support the game.

This just adds to the frustration. As a player, I feel left in the dark, making seemingly meaningless bug posts about an important issue that shouldnt even be happening in the first place and all we can do is sit around and wait, hope they notice and hope they fix it.

I never played during Shadowlands which is where Chromie Time originated I beleive so if this missing dungeon issues wasnt an issue then than perhaps it truly is a bug that will be fixed, we just likely wont know for some time if it truly is a bug and whether or not it will be fixed.

This is why people simply replying with “Just submit a bug report” somewhat annoys me cause while that is the only avenue we have as WOW players to resolve issues, it’s also a fundamental part of the game that should be remediated as soon as possible.

We shouldnt have to make a bug report, wait and hope they see it before its fixed if it ever will be. They want people to commit to 6 months/a year of playtime but fundamental parts of the game arent working.

Oh well I guess I’ll just make my bug report and wait like a good boy…

Its like
Player 1: “Woah, I cant attack mobs or interact with NPCs, the entire game is broken”

Player 2: “Oh yeah I’m having the same problem, I cant play the game”

Player 3: “jUsT sUbMiT A bUg rEpOrT, EZ”.

Like that magically solves everything.

This is really depressing. Did Blizzard ever clarify why this was changed or will it remain a mystery? I’m very much against this design choice (assuming it is one) as there were a lot of dungeons I loved that are no longer available while leveling. It’s kind of depressing, honestly…

If it’s a “temporary” change because of scaling issues, I can live with that for now. But if it’s a permanent choice I’d be very upset. I think we deserve to know what’s going on at the very least. This constant lack of communication is what makes this so miserable.

PS: And yes, I know this post was started 2 months ago. I intentionally bumped it. It has apparently been 2 months with no clarification on this, and it should be emphasized. I’m pretty concerned Blizzard plans on leaving it this way and not even telling us why they changed it…

I think you need to que with a lowbie and have them que for the specific dungeon. I do not know why blizzard would make it this way as scaling was a feature boasted when they were marketing it
