Where you all going, PvE or PvP Servers?

PVP sounds tempting, but I’ll probably stick to PVE since I remember my previous attempts at PVP never going that well.

PvP for me seeing BFA is mainly pve, one main reason I am playing Classic. War mode is not as cool as what pvp servers brought to the game

Pvp not even a question. Cant wait to oom and melt faces with my dwarf spriest.

PVE. PVP is something I tend not to do anyways except on other games at times.

This. So much this. Some people play the game of WoW. Some people play the game of “torment the adults”

PvE. I want to be able to go afk on a hill and not die.

World PvP is a huge part of the game for me. I don’t like getting ganked but it is a part of the experience and makes leveling up more rewarding and exciting to me. I’m pretty patient so i don’t mind corpse walks too much or having to leave an area because a group of the opposite faction is ganking in my quest area. I have never played on a PvE server and i dont think i ever will. If i tried i would probably get frustrated if i met an enemy who i didnt like but wasnt flagged.

Personally I play this game like a tabletop RPG. It’s about making friends to group up with to take out the bad guys in dungeons. So I play it as PVE mostly. The factions are not at war in vanilla. It’s more like a cold war with instigators on both sides trying to start a war between the factions. Thrall does not want war, and neither does Fordragon while filling in for the king. Each faction has their problems to deal with if you actually pay attention to the quests without having to try and wage a war. And sometimes their problems are the same and they have to work together to defeat a powerful enemy. Seriously, pvp is a minor aspect of this game if you are a roleplayer. But that’s just how I see it.

PVE but if there is a PVP-FLAG “ON” i will keep that active a lot of time. I don want PvP because in certain zones will be imposible complete your quests lol

I’m going anywhere that has an oceanic realm fingers crossed :persevere:

PVP I remember back on my old pvp server the horde would camp westfall from anywhere between a couple of hours to DAYS and the alliance would have to form an army just so their alts could quest, it was epic and i want to relive those days again.

Especially after watching the war that was just had in arathi on the beta.

I can’t understand PVE servers lure.

What i hear is “I’m going to play MMO now, the rest of you leave me alone and please don’t interfere my play.”

I can only speak from my or rather my friends experience when they all moved to Hellscream and drug me with them, their reasoning was that they got tired of getting camped while they tried to farm for mats .

No one likes being killed. But without it you miss the joy of finding a solution to it. Less things to do.

Agreed, but they were adamant about moving to a pve server and me not wanting to play by myself went with them.

I like to think i got them back for that years later when we all played chivalry, i would hunt them down on the map and then start blasting the old mortal kombat theme song over vent.

Needless to say they were not happy with me.

Definitely PvP. Was predominately PvE back in Vanilla but after seeing what world PvP could be like in videos I always wished I’d rolled on a PvP server. Also considering BG’s aren’t in Classic for quite some time world PvP is the only PvP available.

Here let me reword it for you so you can see why some prefer not to play PvP servers.

“I’m going to play MMO now, so I can interfere with other people’s play”

What is even the point in classic without constant fear of undead rogues that will eat your body

This guy knows what’s up. If you actually read quests and pay attention in Warcraft 3, you’ll know the Horde and the Alliance aren’t at war with each other. It’s a cold war, at best. Playing PvP servers for a sense of “immersion” is a false pretense. PvE or RP servers are closer to an authentic version of Azeroth than PvP servers are. The two factions didn’t declare war on each other until the Cataclysm.

Still want that sense of danger? A challenge? Permanently flag yourself for PvP on a PvE server. Yes, you give up the first strike most of the time. And that makes it more hardcore than anything a PvP server will give you, ironically enough.
