Where you all going, PvE or PvP Servers?

I started March 2005, went PvP server back then. I am 42 now, a lot less time to spend on Classic, and am really enjoying the NO War Mode option today. Thinkin PvE in August. Anyone else make that decision yet?

I’m probably going the other way around. Been a PvE player all my WoW life, will now be rolling on PvP for Classic.

I’m going to die

PvE for me I like an occasional pvp brawl etc and ill flag myself or join bgs but me to sometimes my time is limited and want to get what I need done and other times I just don’t feel like pvping.

Always PvP for me.

I quested solo most of the time and would rarely seek out a fight, but I liked that unpredictable element of danger that was always present. It felt like a real, ongoing conflict. The world was not safe.

Pvp all the way. Was pve in vanilla (this character actually). Definitely want more danger in my life this time around

I’ll try one character, a forsaken mage, on a PvP realm. Hopefully Blizzard will relent and make a RP-PvP server.

Pvp. Pve just sounds like a less exciting Pvp server.

I’ll be going PvP and I will be wreaking havoc!

I want to be the top of everyones kill on sight lists because for me if you’re red…

Huh, I think I may have had my mind changed. PvP wasn’t bad, and the rando element of excitement wandering a more dangerous world, was occasionally a lot of fun. Plus the Guild on Guild battles that sometimes inspired.

Has to be PvP.

Of course it can be frustrating to see your progression slow down to a crawl when PvP is present, but WoW is all about these little moments of frustration, and overcoming obstacles.

It’s a war afterall, and you should never expect to be able to easily check off everything on your agenda.

The main difference between PvP and PvE servers. Those people killing low levels are killing NPC’s instead of players on PvE servers

Thinking hard about this because the reality is that people will dedicate all their time to ganking low level zones all day, and that is not fun at all. That “Oh it’s world PVP, is part of the game” excuse is pathetic. Getting killed 10 times in a row due to corpse camping in no way, shape or form equals PVP. So maybe I will roll PVE at launch, and go PVP after a month or two when the hype dies down.

It really wasn’t a decision. PvP. The reason I started playing mmo’s.

I like the way you think! You playing gnome?

Ah, good point. That might be more annoying.

PvE, when i want PvP there will be BG’s. And frankly WoW’s pvp has always sucked, when i want good pvp in Azeroth I can always play WC3, which is also being re released

WPVP in WoW is just ganking, which I don’t care to do and see no reason to subject myself to.

I played PvP servers for the longest time, and it’s all I ever played during retail vanilla. I’ll be going PvE this time around though. For starters, WoW just never managed to create any meaningful wpvp content.

I’ve also played pservers that launched honor system without BGs…People have this romanticized vision of wpvp in vanilla, they are going to be in for a surprise. While battles at Tarren Mill did occur, most rankers were busy farming flight points, boat docks, and the lv51+ leveling areas.

I think PvE servers will have the higher quality wpvp, because rankers won’t be able to camp and gank, they will have to go to the more organized battles at Tarren Mill and fight against other PvPers.

RP.

At some point down the line, I might roll an alt on a PVP server.

PvP, I regretted rolling PvE once I realized the difference way back in vanilla.

RP if its an option. Those communities are usually pretty tight knit. I hate being slowed down by people who have nothing better to do than waste my time.
