I am Human Level 16. My tailoring level is maxed at 75/75. Trainer sends me to the Expert trainer in the mage quarter in Stormwind. When I speak to the trainer and ask to train, he tells me I need to be 80/80. How do I do that if I am 75/75? I have been to other trainers in Iforge and Darnas. Same thing.
I ran into this issue. There are two tailoring places in the mage quarter. The one you’re going to has the journeyman/artisan trainers. The other one is right next to the mage tower/blue recluse inn and has the expert trainer.

That would be Larson’s …. I’ve been there… he is the only expert trainer in stormwind as far as I can tell. He is the one that tells me I need to be 80/80

I honestly do not remember, but a simple search on Classic Wowhead will show you where all the tailoring trainers are - may not be one in Stormwind?
he is on the other side by the mage tower ramp. not in the tailoring shop.
I have been to next level trainers (Expert) in every alliance city. All the expert trainers tell me i need to be 80/80 (I am 75/75). They don’t talk about a specific level at all to train my next level.
I have also leveled tailors in the past. Currently the “expert” tailor in the building at the foot of the mage tower has a requirement of 80/80 before i can train. I am currently 75/75 after finishing journeyman training in the other building where journeyman & artisan trainers are.
There’s the answer, they’re level 16.

Just need to be level 10 to get to the next stage of tailoring. I would have expected that any expert tailor would teach you that to advance your maximum to 150.
Are you sure your tailoring is past 50 and not some other profession? If so, not sure what to say. Send in a ticket.
I am honestly not sure one way or the other which is why I did not bring it up, guide I looked at said 10 but guides have been wrong in the past. I haven’t leveled tailoring since my first toon in Phase 1.
Actually, it’s 10, 20 and 35.

It’s possible, you may not be talking to the correct NPCs (had a fellow Leatherworker talking to the wrong Leatherworking NPC, in Darnassus, once). To upgrade your Tailoring from 75 - 150, your Tailoring Skill is to be at least level 50, and your character level is to be at least level 10 and talk to any of these (Alliance) Trainers:
