Where to find difficult to get battle pet companions

where might be some places to find rare battle pets like those needing special spawn techniques or like a list of such companions ; thanks !

Honestly I would tell you to go to warcraftpet and look up pets. It has a pretty easy layout and you can import your pets to keep up with what you have. There are a lot of pets with special spawn conditions or spawn chances. With less people farming them you should not have any problems honestly.

I don’t do the pet stuff as much as I used to.

Warcraft Secrets has both a web site and a discord channel. Their database lists information on several pets and mounts and how to get them.

If you look up any pet on Wowhead, the comments section has players posting information about where to find them and what you need to do to get them.

Some are rewards from quests, some are purchased from a faction vendor, and some have elaborate situations to get them. For example, there are a couple that are seasonal, so you can only get them half of the year, and some that only spawn in a specific zone with a certain weather condition, like that baby ape in STV that is only there when it rains and another I think in Stormpeaks that requires it to be snowing. Some you need to purchase with pet battle tokens, so you need to farm those up for a while, since some cost a 1000 tokens or more for each one.

I use a couple of different add-ons like all the things and pet collector to find the ones that are missing and add them to my collection.

killing Smorgas in maldraqus occasionally drops pet battle tokens , you can kill only once per toon per day; the drop rate is ??? no idea = guess at % percent chance ! usually it is 40 to 55 tokens ! allegedly other bosses have a similar mechanic …
