IMO the “average” player starts to die off right around the mythic dungeon area of groups. They get nervous about applying to mythic 0 ( which to be fair there’s maybe 1-2 an hour that I personally see in group chat ) and then they just jump to an alt and repeat the process . How do you fix this? I get mythics require coordination etc but I think if mythic 0 was added to dungeon finder it would make mor sense to help that hump . What do you think?
All my characters died when I hit unsubscribe
Also true lol
Be me. Level a toon to 60 in vanilla. Realise what kind of drama and time was involved in raiding current. Go back to the login screen. Create a new character. Ended up with a level 60 pally, druid, mage and Warr. OG account go poof though
I think people should take charge of their lives and not expect others to do it for them.
Yeah lol . But I’m saying in retail. If they made mythic 0 less scary by adding it to the dungeon finder I think a lot more people would try it . It’s not scary at all. But for some reason the idea of finding a group scares people
devs keep makin games without community gate in mind
its not an issue ina fps or other multiplayer games only mmo’s
long as we have people gate keeping instead of like an mmr system or something its going to be hard for new players
i dont know the solution but most people want to log que get their stuff done and leave with little drama
mythics 0 don’t require coordination.
They require an understanding of your class and how mechanics work in the game.
That’s it. People are too afraid to learn by playing the game. They view one mistake as the end, when in fact it’s a learning opportunity.
It doesn’t help that people tend to get a bit psychotic in Mythics, whether zero or even low keys. Too many people have an image in their head of how skilled players should act and instead come across as tools who end up scaring off people. Many then come here and whine about “filthy casuals wanting something for nothing” without realizing that the actual mythic raiding and high key community would have taught someone in a Mythic 0-3 knowing that the new person may actually listen and learn and thus, eventually become a potential part of their bench.
M0’s offer nothing more than a harder hitting heroic. The only thing that they apply to is the weekly 4 mythic quest.
M0s are the introduction to the mythic system. The mythic system is not LFD.
M0 are old school Wrath Heroics. Start one, fill it, fly to the dungeon, run it.
All they teach is team building and navigation.
The drama around low level M+s is just that – drama. Up to +5, just go.
I’ve been saying this for a while.
There’s no reason to not add the BASE level of mythic to the random queue so someone can just jump into a group and get a key if they don’t have one.
At least they could get a START on mythics without begging for a group.
Yeah I mean up to 5 is as straight forward as it gets . But the community makes it harder . You got dudes checking io for mythic 2 LOL . I would never run with someone like that but I def understand where the “fear factor” comes from
I usually just push my own key, but it doesn’t help much. I’ll say that I want a chill group and not that worried about time, and then other people in the group screech at each other anyway.
In their defense, I did have to kill a few keys this week because exactly one person didn’t know what they were doing at all. In one group, I had a hunter in HoA who messed up the 2nd boss twice, causing a wipe. I asked him if he knew the mechanics, and he said yes. He then messed up two more times and wiped us, causing the group to disband. Even at that point, he was already 1.3 mil total DPS behind my brother and me. Nobody flamed him, but he also completely killed the run and my desire to M+ that day.
In another key, on Spires, the tank flamed me for dying to bursting after all my CDs were gone and I had stopped DPSing. Then he proceeded to tank the 2nd boss poorly, causing a wipe. Then he didn’t use a defensive on 3rd boss when gathering orbs, wiping us again. Then he wiped the group on the last boss by not running to the safety bubble.
The thing is, I felt like I did what I was supposed to do. Provided a feast. Gave mage food and reminded the group about bursting and to be good to the healer. Did all mechanics like the maze in Mists, Alter Time usage on orbs on 3rd boss of Spires, decursing to help our healer, etc.
The solution that’s always presented is to join a guild. Been there, done that. Was in a raiding guild between Ulduar and Firelands. I agree it’s absolutely a viable solution; you just need to find a guild that gets you the content you want with people you like. Lately, that’s been easier said than done. Lot of guild drama and people making favors for their friends and only using you for resources. Not all guilds, I know. Enough to where I don’t bother.
So, maybe your thread is meant for people like me? To which I think the solution is to better incorporate Mythic+ somehow, but it’s been three expansions. I think if I could queue for it up to a certain level and not have to walk on eggshells with people who have just as much or more than me to learn, I’d be more interested.
In the meantime, roleplaying it is.
I think the average player falls off around m11+ and heroic raiding
The KEY system isn’t, and it shouldn’t be.
GETTING a key shouldn’t be something you have to beg to get into a group for though.
Mythic 0 is not rocket science, and it could easily be added to the LFD tool.
Just Do It. This is alt #3 of 8 level 60’s. Leveled, obtained gear from Covenant campaign, and a group of friends just jumped in. We did a few M0, then our +2 keys. One we didn’t time cause we had to work out some mechanics the other we did. Rinse repeat. It’s the same as running LBRS/UBRS back in the day.
Nah, tons of people pug heroic raids. The average player doesn’t even touch normal raids to be honest. They just do LFR, world quests, heroics maybe.
Why not create a community with the goal of running with chill people?
Yeah I still don’t see the harm of mythic 0 on the dungeon finder. KEYS should be something you have to work for etc . But regular mythics they’re basically heroics
I disagree.
I’m an average player, and I’m capable of running a Heroic raid.
I wouldn’t never attempt a full run at a Mythic raid though.
And keys, I could do up to a 10, but beyond that… I don’t know how well that would go, even with the rest of my team being stellar.
