Simple, pre plan. You know what dungeon or raid you’re going to do then open up the dungeon journal and read or better yet do what I do and open up youtube and look up a quick tanking guide to get an idea of what is expected of you. I’m not even expecting them to download the dungeon route addons etc…though any serious tank should.
As a general rule of thumb, I try never to get offended on anybody else’s behalf. I mean, the devil is in the details, and broad-sweeping advice will never be 100% accurate, but I’d say you can trust the tank/healer to speak up if they feel it’s worth speaking up over. I definitely wouldn’t withhold heals - as that breaks your Hippocratic Oath 
If you want to pull it que as a tank. It’s not that hard. If I were tanking I’ll watch you die

You used one of the few examples of when tanks actually matter outside high-end content like raids or high key mythic+, that doesn’t mean tanks always set the pace. I WILL continue to do so as DPS as that’s my job.
But Tanking is so easy, now they got to pre plan?
Ok i get it now. This thread is a troll thread. I got baited, Dps in this game can’t be this stupid. I’m going to leave this thread. From the fact that someone use achievements mean their voice matters more on all grouping content, to a tank must have a master plan before he does a dungeon, but still the easiest class.
Master level trolling here. 8 out of 10. I only believe it because of how stupid dps are in queue groups I’ve been in.

Even in Classic, you don’t get your Sheeps on Moon or your Saps on Star anymore.

No he’s right, I’ve successfully vote kicked at least 5 tanks this week for being bad and it’s only Thursday.

Nah, most times slow tanks are learning.
And the toxic people in this thread pulling as dps and then blaming the tank are the main reasons for tank shortages

Then I suggest they melee dps to see the dynamic of group running from the melee pile perspective first.
I also suggest not learning to tank in end game Heroics that people are speed clearing for quest objectives.
And I suggest not being a jack leg to everyone who doesn’t play the game like you

I mean yeah, you’re right - it’s not the end of the world to plan ahead. But like, is it any surprise that the only role with “homework” is under-represented?
I have no idea of what a solution would look like, or even if it’s something that can be helped, but I don’t like that tanking is either going the extra mile as a “serious tank” or getting kicked for winging it unsuccessfully. Putting in the work to get good and play to the best of your ability is really satisfying, but I don’t like it being forced on me all the time
That includes being slow as a tank. That’s being a jack leg on its own.
Everyone needs to plan the route ahead.
I need to know where I can and can’t use my 2 minutes. I need to know all the pulls up to and including the boss.
Every role has that “homework”.
Or that tank is new and is afraid to mess off because of toxic players.
