I’m stuck at renown 4, have done 2 callings and 8 dungeons since reset but still stuck at 4 renown. Is the catch up system bugged, or just extremely RNG for some reason? There was no clear indication about how to catch up, I’ve had to take people’s word for it that you can “get it from dungeons” but that doesn’t seem to be true for me. Can this please be clarified or fixed if it is indeed broken, I cannot progress the story now because of this, and I don’t want to be behind everyone else by a week.

Catch up system on week two? No, that’s not happening. If you’re referring to alts, then there is a way to earn Renown while you quest after completing the zone quest. You need to make sure you do your two quests for your covenant every week. If you didn’t cap at 5 last week, you will be behind until they release a catch up mechanic (I’m sure there will be one down the road).

Callings and dungeons have nothing to do with increasing Renown. Unless you are farming anima for the quest to fill your conduit with 1000 anima. You’ll gain 1 renown for that weekly and another for the saving souls quest in the maw. Both weekly quests are obtained from your covenant hall.
You also receive one renown for every covenant chapter you compete.

There are catch-up systems already in place for players who are behind, have switched Covenants, or are playing alts. These characters will be able to earn additional Renown through max level gameplay, Dungeons, Raids, PvP, and Callings (the new Emissary Quests), until they reach the current Renown cap.

You’re not behind sir, you can get 2 renown each week from quests. The game has only been out two weeks.

I have 4 renown, and no option to gain more, therefore I am behind. It was said that there are catch up mechanics for renown.

Weeklies weren’t available last week if I’m not mistaken.
I definitely had weeklies last week. 2 renown from weeklies and 1 from campaign.

People who said you were not behind are talking straight out of their anuses.
If you had missed the 1000 anima turning last week and arrived at the first flush at only renown 2, the max renown you’ll get right now is 4, because u had missed 1 weekly 1000 anima turn in
And this is for your main. not alts.
i know a few in that situation.
Unless there is a way to catch that up that i am not aware of, and i had looked, you are now permanently behind. until you reached max renown cap of this patch.

There’s a few threads about this, and seems to be quite a few people behind, myself as well.
Thats what happens when you launch an Expansion the week of a holiday.
Anyway, I keep hearing “it drops in dungeons has dropped for group member”.
I havent seen that, and I have done all the callings, most daily 11 BGs 4 Heroics thus far and also have not seen a renown drop.
I wonder if the people getting drops from dungeons are doing so on mains or on alts, maybe that is the difference. I guess at this point all I can do is hope they address it. It seems very odd for your main to be able to be held back in this way but not your alts.
Did you finish your Campaign chapters? You gain 1 Renown for finishing each chapter

Yeah, the issue was like others I did not end up finishing 1000 anima last week, so that is where I fell short. However, I believed based on what I have read and what others have said about getting renown via dungeons that I would be able to catch up to 5 and then 6 via the chapter this week.
This is the first character I leveled to 60, and there appears to be an issue with catch up renown in these cases. From what I am gathering from what people are saying here and elsewhere, it seems that if you change covenants, or if you level an alt, those characters are able to gain catch up renown from doing things such as dungeons. However if your first 60 is currently behind in renown, you still don’t get it from doing dungeons, callings or PVP.
I didn’t manage my anima last week and I ended up getting Renown as a reward “catchup” for one of my Callings this week.

Interesting, so then it sounds like it could also be RNG. I don’t have all the info, and that is kind of what is frustrating. With the weekly renown quests, you know what to do, go to the maw or target anima, but as of now there is nothing in game, and only extremely vague explanations even from the best websites, that explains how catching up works.
There only seems to be anecdotal evidence at this point, i.e. people like myself who have been doing content for 2 days and not seen it, or people who seem to have just gotten it without much more said. This makes it hard to gauge if the system is working for some but not all, or if that’s just how it works.

You just have to look for the quest in your sanctum that will give you reknown. Im down to just needing the anima one in order to fully catch up. the other ones showed up from the quest givers in my sanctum. im pretty sure at least. cant say for certain
I was told in game it’s 3 a week. And this is in-line with where I am. I think I hit 5 last night. I assume I’ll hit 6 tonight. Really love this weekly cap, tbh, allows me to take my time, smell the roses, not freak out if I miss a night.
