Where is the ED social hub these days?

As I get older (I’m 35 now), I get a sense that I am way out of touch with how things work now. Not just in WoW, but maybe in gaming culture as a whole. Haha…I work a lot and don’t have tons of time, but I miss having internet friends to run around/hang out with in WoW, and I’m not sure where to look these days. Cities and normal chat channels seem mostly dead. When I used to play semi-hardcore (in my early-mid 20’s), most of the socializing and meeting of new people happened in various public zone chat channels in-game. Now it seems like there is some special new way to meet folks, and I missed the memo :stuck_out_tongue:. I know a lot of you are at least my age or older, so it’s not an issue of not fitting in with the young kids (which…I teach high school and honestly am not looking to hang out with a younger crowd anyways, at freaking all), I think I just need to wake up to modern tech stuff or something. I’ve used discord a little, I honestly don’t love it, but I am flexible I guess.

I’d like to meet a guild or group of folks to hang out with, and get to know them while I still do my solo stray cat thing 60% of the time. Is that silly?

What’s your social experience like in WoW/ED?

From my personal experience much of the social interaction I have with other players occurs primarily within guild chat or through social media (namely discord). Times have changed greatly my friend. We meet up in-game for events and instances of course, but the actual communication occurs over voice chat normally.
