Runes and that’s it?! I originally loved the idea of discovering new and fun additions in the world! But I think Blizzard is over thinking it! SoD is supposed to let the player discover runes and gear but how about more new items that change the game?! Example: craft tables that hold all your crafting materials so you no longer have to store them in your bank or take up your pack space. Just open up your craft table and everything is organized so you can craft quickly ! How about storefronts so players don’t have to sit there spamming chat they can open up a little store where their character stands and people can click on it to see everything they are selling! Enchanters don’t have to spam chat now! Greater profession benefits! Alchemist potions all proceed through death if you’re alchemist . Why can’t engineers make portals like the gnomes! ? That would be cool There are so many simple things that can be added to the game to make it fun like the sleeping bag they added!
Until the AFK timer kicks them out of the game ~20minutes later.
Can we please move away from making BiS professions. It’s really stupid. And it’s largely Blizzard’s fault for making some crafted items BoP.
Trust me bro. They are not; Minimum Viable Product.
Discovery is in the Cata prepatch shop
Eleven exclamation points were found just in your original message and title.
Remember how the first trailer is a total bait and switch to think they added new areas in zones and new chests to find?
meta is reset too. probably a lot to explore as far as builds go but people be sheeple
I discovered that class balance can be even worse than I imagined.
Also that Blizzard has a hot fetish for tribal dudes with elemental sticks.
Most classes don’t have flexible builds to explore.
Most classes have 1 rune per slot that interacts with their spec, and almost no talent changes were made resulting in many dead or required talents.
Considering how bad class balance is there isn’t really any room for flexibility.
No rune or talent change is going to make up the 30%+ dps difference between the middle of the pack and the 4 outliers at the top.
I have yet to discover that epic dagger from princess after over 150 runs.
If they don’t flesh out Grim Batol at max level, or the Hyjal entrance from Winterspring I will honestly question the point in wasting any development time on SoD lol.
Yea neither of those are happening.
My buddy just got it on his 270th run. Runescape levels of tedium are what makes getting the reward all that much better doesnt it?
Yeah I feel your lack of confidence. SoD has been…a bit underwhelming so far. I don’t have high hopes for it’s continued development, whether due to lack of resources and/or poor direction/management.
Maybe the discovery is the friends we made along the way.
were you not here the past 3 phases? we discovered alot
You discover that Blizzard is incapable of making Classic plus and that the community is one of retail colonizers.
I am more on the side of professions should be able to make everyone the items the profession creates so they can profit on what is supposed to be a profession. While some decent items come from them, it has always been wrong to me that after WOTLK, professions became a self bonus only really. It should have perks, but the idea should be that there are items that others want that they can only get from your profession.
You get to “discover” all over again that half the playerbase are degenerates and would happily kick you out of the game because you are not “optimal”
If I’m reading this right, it sounds like you subscribe to EVE Online’s approach, where literally everything you want/need is crafted by ‘a player’; at best NPCs supply the Recipe (Blueprint), but it’s up to the player to craft the items. Though some of the basics like ‘low tier ammo’ is sold by ‘the game’ (you can still make it).
…and I would love that here.
Imagine going into MC not for Tier 1, but for the rare materials needed by a Blacksmith/Tailor/Leatherworker to craft your Tier gear. From a recipe that the crafter had to track down from the darkest of dungeons to the most harrowing of heights in long-forgotten stores of knowledge.
There never was any discovery, no lifers datamined all the relative info at the beggining and then as each phase came to be.
Never was, never will be.
