Most people are having fun with Wrath, and then they want to play Cata and MoP. Don’t think it’s Blizzard who is out of touch here.
Lol noone wants to play cata apart from streamers who’s livelihood depends on it so they talk up how cata “isn’t actually that bad”.

We haven’t heard anything because it’s very possible we aren’t getting SOM 2 or Classic+.
It would be idiotic not to release a SoM season 2 or even just classic refresh servers. Blizzard literally gets to re-use previously developed content to increase their profits. The board and the investors should be demanding that they do this just from a ROI perspective alone.

we just got uld and heroic plus dungeons 2 weeks ago. Uld is a high point in what is popularly the bis expansion. Best time for that might be between trail and icc.
Tbh they wouldn’t of made that much from season 1 compared to their other games, especially when US wide 2000 people were playing it.

I unsubbed and then came back to play the last 2 weeks of SoM again. A 3/6/9 month new SoM reset with the option to drop into vanilla era at end of season seems like such a great hands off business model to maintain the vanilla subs.

For the most part that is kept to the Wrath Classic forum while this one tends to see mostly folk interested in Era or the seasonal option.
Again most of that is in the Wrath Classic forum as it would impact those players that chose progression.
Here it’s people that are enjoying the base/“vanilla” game content.
I play both for the moment and don’t have an issue with reading posts about either.
Just explaining why this forum isn’t necessarily out of touch.

I seriously doubt Cata and beyond will retain as many players as the OG period of WoW has. Bet a ton of people will quit classic if they just do Cata next and no classic+.
Cata might still be worth doing probably, but it’ll have half the population.
I’m playing on Whitemane right now, the population seems pretty good right now. You could play there.
I am real sad I moved my som character to wrath.

Then they need to announce that about som since they already announced they are doing yearly seasons. If that’s cancelled, they need to announce that it’s cancelled. Not months after the year deadline already came and went. What a mess this company is.
