We are a listless vessel at sea. Our captain is MIA. We have some devs tweeting but not a single person has stepped up and said " rough patch - thanks for sticking with us good positive changes are on the way"
The game director is a lawyer so during a lawsuit im sure he will be quiet as a church mouse.
I kinda feel like the house is on fire and blizzard decided this would be a good time to vaccum.
Considering it’s very much a darned if you do, darned if you don’t, and that other company officials already took care of bungling initial stages of damage control quite thoroughly, I don’t blame Ion for just keeping quiet about what is likely no news at this time.
I bet he is covering his backside right now. making sure he doesn’t get fired as well. And yet he should be fired cause he has failed at a leadership role and could have stepped in and done something.
For all anyone knows they are avoiding social websites like the plague right now. Leaving some skeleton crew on the job for moderation. Who could possibly know
I do not like saying someone should lose their job. I certainly think he should be demoted to raid encounter developer. Leadership does not seem to suit him.
Everything he says always creates even more toxicity when we find out he was lying the whole time.
The game under his watch has went to crap, profitable or not.
The patch isn’t “rough” though. 9.1 is actually good. It’s really everything else - Classic WoW, the Cosby Suite, the whole Sylvanas debacle - that’s weighing the perception of the game down.
I want Ion Hazzikostas to come out and talk to us, but considering that people have the wrong perception of the game right now - some people mistakenly think the game is bad - it would be considered somewhat “tone deaf” for Ion Hazzikostas to take a victory lap.
For the most part, they all should be. I mean just look at how they statements thus far have went over. They were probably told to keep their traps shut unless they are authorized.
People seem to have a special hate for lawyers and insurance agents, so if you ever worked in those fields, that mark is always brought up by the petty, the spiteful, the ignorant.
Congratulations on your career transition to engineering!
Lol, whut?
He’s a game dev, not an executive. he doesn’t have as much power as you think he does, and it’s not his job to step in and do something, that’s what HR is for, those are the people that should be fired.
If blizz doesn’t listen to their employees when it comes to predatory behaviour then listening/talking to us is not a surprise at all.
When you consider the statements they have made regarding their abhorrent behaviour I am sort of glad they are not talking to us, as we can see how victim-blaming is their default position.
Those who didn’t abide by the sage advice of General Discussion three weeks ago (to the day!) and tried to spar or justify themselves on social media have only reaped the wrath of the great unwashed.
