Where is Malfurion after he returns?

I did the quest with the cutscene of Malfurion returning while Shandris and Tytande talk.

Thing is, after that when talking to Malfurion I made the mistake of not taking the additional quest that Malfurion gives and instaad chose to complete the other quest.

Then, Tyrande and Malfurion walked away with Shandris to an unknown destination, leaving me behind without being able to take the quest.

Where is Malfurion now???

He is positioned in that main town area of the same zone, in sort of a gazebo - no idea why the quest marker doesn’t appear on the map at all.
