Where is everyone hanging out in WoW?

Hi :wave: I’m a returning player from since WOTLK. I have yet to upgrade to Shadowlands and have instead been lvling through grinding dungeons and pvp before deciding if I want to do end game content.

One thing I notice is the absolute silence on General and Trade chat in Stormwind and Ironforge. Where is everyone at? I have both Horde and Alliance toons and both sides are equally quiet.

I have to admit WoW is boring without all the colourful discussions in chats. I’m also guildless atm so that might explain the lonely feeling. Running dungeons from the queue system with strangers feels almost like a chore. Anyone from Calestrasz Oceanic or Korialstrasz US?

I’m Dath’remar Oceanic; at night our General chat in Org is pretty colourful.

Turn on Warmode and go out front of your capital city. It’s usually a pretty busy hangout spot.

That’s mostly gone, “colorful” is going to get you in trouble :laughing: Come to a discord server :+1:
It replaced Vent (or whatever voice chat you used back then) and has extra capabilities like text chat, picture posting, etc, it’s nice :smiley:

All my Dark Iron Dwarf hang out in Ironforge. It is pretty quiet. I seldom see anyone there.

Stormwind is a ghost town. Even the Trade District is empty.

Oribos in Shadowlands is packed. Lots of players on the top floor.

Horde side Orgrimmar, is fairly active. A lot of players there and is the center of RP now.

Silvermoon City, where most RP activity was held is basically empty. RP now is in Org.

I have no idea why these changes occurred.

Well, a lot of servers are pretty dead, so there’s that. Most people are in Oribos, or in keys.

Dath Horde are usually really nice. We have some ‘Trade Characters’ as well! :smiley:

There’s colorful “discussions” on MG trade. It’s usually not worth participating though.

Colorful chat was the best in wow back in the day :laughing: sitting in chat for hours doing nothing but being dumb talking about stupid stuff in trade :heart: Nowadays that will get you silenced so “General”, “Off Topic”, “General Off Topic”, etc type channels in Discords have become the trade chat of old.

Oribos indeed is the new favourite hangout now! Found everyone there after I upgraded my game and followed the questlines there.

I suggest finding a good social guild, because trade chat is usually filled with politics.
