There has been an extreme lack of transparent communication by Blizzard to their consumer. I understand that’s their m.o. but in today’s digital age there is a much more open line of communication between developer and consumer. Waiting for “that one blue post” is prehistoric.
Blizzard knows they messed up. The PVP community messed up as well, but Blizzard is the only one with the overall ability to try to force a change for the betterment of all. I imagine their PR team is advising them not to even touch on the P2 chaos because there is no response that will satisfy all parties but this is completely unfair to the consumer. The ability to experience any facet of the open world on this game has been ruined for every PVP server. It has extracted a toll on every PVP server’s community and has probably had a negative effect on many people’s happiness who spend the majority of their free time on WoW.
The least Blizzard could do, even if it isn’t the most strategic for their PR, is at least acknowledge what is going on and maybe mention what/if they are trying to do anything to improve the situation. Instead all we’ve gotten is this: “We’ve been following the deadly deeds of the Classic community closely over the last week as the Honor system sparked an impressive amount of World PvP on PvP realms, and we’re excited to see what might transpire over the next three weeks.” What a cop out.
They did respond. They’re pushing out BGs ahead of schedule. The option to reroll is also there, if you can’t take the danger on a server type that many people go to for the constant sense of danger in the world. Just saying.
Classic is based on a 15 year old game. It’s not going to have new dungeons, it’s not going to have balance changes, and it’s not going to have new raids. What exactly do you want them to say that you couldn’t have googled in the last decade and a half?
Their response was release of BGs early, which should solve a lot of problems. They already bent over for complainers. My suggestion would be to be patient or re roll PvE.
I will answer this with a serious reply. I manage a very specialized engineering software that only has thousands of users and not millions.
The problem is that upper management is probably providing input, data analytics teams are chiming in, marketing team is probably saying something else.
So instead of doing something the manager decides the best path for their career is to do very little since none of the other teams can agree with a vision.
There are almost certainly quality employees working on the Classic release that have great ideas on how to help out, however they look to be getting drowned out by the bureaucracy that is software development.
Nowhere did the OP say anything close to that…project much?
What YOU really mean is “Someone has a different and valid opinion, but I’m going to swoop in and fanboi it up.”
Has asked for a simple statement regarding the state of realm pop and balance, which any paying customer with a brain would appreciate, regardless of your love affair with greifing.
There is never a answer to satisfy all parties. There never were. These problems arn’t new at all. Blizzard listens to the loudest party and does anything to appease them. This is exactly why retail is what retail is.
