Where is Arthas soul?

If this isn’t answered before ending the expansion it will be the biggest let down in lore development

I have a very bad feeling that I am going to be raising hades, in regards to Arthas, by the end of this expansion. If they don’t do him some justice, with all of this Jailer nonsense they have shoved up under our noses, there will be some words said.

That being stated - there has been some possible hints regarding Arthas showing up in the Anduin fight during next raid. Datamining and such, but there are things about it on WoWhead and other places.

isn’t he in the maw still?

i don’t remember us pulling him out’ve there…

though, i have’nt done the venthyr campaign yet, so… maybe we did, i dunno.

Not that I saw, when I ran it on one of my priest toons.

Uther cast his soul into the Maw but we never see him

oh. then yeah, he’s still in the maw.

Uther needs to stop his emo-gothic phase, and go get him. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

then yeah, his soul’s still in the maw.

whether or not he deserves to be there… well, i’ll leave that up to forsaken and human mains to debate over.

iirc blizz said there wont be any arthas this expac

I imagine a part of it was inside Frostmourne, at least until it was shattered in WotLK

I will be very displeased, if this is the case.

Very.

Didn’t it get dropped into the maw by Uther?

There’s really not much cause for anything new with Arthas. That story has already finished, and wrapped up without any lose ends. The only thing we really needed to learn was what happened to his soul once we learned about the Shadowlands existence, and did get that information. Arthas himself didn’t really have any interaction with the Jailor/Shadowlands, at most we’d see that the Jailor planned or manipulated Arthas as well in his grand scheme.

We might get some tidbit information, neat little lore inaights, but nothing consequential needs to happen.

Rumor I read was that he’ll be used as part of the upcoming raid in the Anduin fight.

There are plenty of loose ends with him.

I used it to make a nice pico de gallo.

I cared 6 months ago.

This story has been dragged on so long, I’ve lost interest.

And this is coming from someone who considers Warcraft 3 as one of my all time favorite games.

He applied for a transfer to some “Star Wars” franchise, they signed him up as one of those disembodied “Jedi Knights” tasked to assist whatever kind of so called “heroes” they are pushing in that nebulous fantasy setting.

He almost immediately “turned to the Dark Side”, literally within hours of his recruitment, and commenced to wreak havoc in his newly found hunting ground.

A “Jedi” posse is in hot pursuit as we speak, but the issue is in doubt as he is… powerful.

Such as…?

We really don’t need to see Arthas anyways. I get he’s a big character and the nostalgia behind it, but it’d be kind of an injustice to do anything major with him. His fall to darkness was his story arc and he died as a villain because he was a villain. His story is complete. No need to try to revive him.

Best I think we can expect is some kind of cameo in Anduin’s fight, but it’s hard to tell just yet what exactly would happen there. As far as we know he was left in the Maw, the Jailer didn’t care about him, and even Uther wasn’t going to bother looking for him.
