I always saw them as delving into harnessing the power of the sha which to me feels more like their version of fel.
Well, Mag’har warlocks are just green orcs
Lightforged swore by the power of the Light never to give into fel
And Nomi is already a warlock. Just look at him:
I remember my irl friend played priest at the time, and would go into lfr just to leap of faith the tank into the one shot
Come to think of it, I’m somewhat surprised no one has whining about Pandaren Warlocks. Given apparent perceptions of the race, I’d assume more would take issue with that. They’d be just as wrong as the others in my eyes, but still.
I have a clear memory of 3 manning this fight in LFR from 50% to 0 as EVERYONE else had died to the maze.
I think that was my breaking point with LFR as a system.
Otherwise i don’t have strong opinion on Pandaren Warlocks, i guess pudgy warlocks is kinda funny.
I’ve always said I’d have a race change in a heartbeat once they opened up wicked pandas.
First it was the death knight, and now the warlocks.
Soon I will have a fluffy empire of evil.
We are the adorabominations.
We pandas are the 1%.
I would agree to panda warlocks if Nomi was a dreadlord who made some panda followers.
There’s a difference between wielding the fel and infusing it into your body. Warlocks aren’t DHs. Mag’har DH would be more of a lore problem, even if they created a new DH starting experience where the OG Illidari started teaching demon hunting to other people.
As for the lightforged… sometimes people break their promises. But also, wielding the fel as a weapon isn’t “giving in” to it (and PC warlocks do not join the Legion). Sure, you might not want to have to explain that to Xe’ra, but fortunately Illidan already solved that problem for you!
Pandaren, on the other hand, never had a solid reason why some of them couldn’t be warlocks in the first place.
So after using that toy that can transform you into any player race (except dracthyr cuz blizzard be haters) I got pandaren and unironically loved it? Pandaren look super good in cloth. The animations and expression feel really good. I was gonna go Draenei or Night elf but if I go panda I can stay int he objectively superior faction.
I feel like any complaints about Warlock race combos can be explained away by “remember Illidan?”
They tried to get Pandarens to be Warlocks but they kept using the Warlock cauldron to make stew.
