I’ve been through 4 different zones today, Tanaris, Badlands, Dustwallow, and Arathi, and I’ve managed to find 2 nodes with 8 total ore, and this is the third time this weekend! What is going on with iron spawn rates?

I’ve had this problem (i.e., can’t find iron nodes) since WoW Classic. A guide to which I’ve referred indicated Arathi Highlands was a good place to farm iron. I seem to remember, back when I started in Wrath, that Arathi was the place where I got my iron. I’m hoping, when Wrath is released, the what I remember will actually become the case. Otherwise, it’s going to be a tough row to hoe leveling BS or Eng.
I dunno what’s going on now. I just ran up on an iron node, started mining it, and after the first whack, a troll appeared, hit it twice, and the node and the troll disappeared.
Server latency? Network latency? Hacker? Got any ideas?
Sounds like a teleport-hacking mining bot to me.
