I can’t locate a server status or reason why servers are offline. Why is this not being communicated?

The fact is, they may not be able to say anything.
Yesterday about 15 realms went offline at once, and Blizz said that their systems showed the realms were up.
This lead to people saying that it’s only down for some, but not others.
So short answer: They may not even know.
Same thing is happening for Tichondrius. Bleeding Hollow shows online for me, and offline for you it sounds.
Probably because it is a new issue that cropped up without warning and they’re rushing trying to see what is going on. Give it some time for them to have answers and information they can actually share. Just a bit of patience goes a long way.

Wouldn’t doubt it, some greaseball needed a new yacht earlier this year.
I’m confident that the blues here are far too busy to regularly communicate realm status information, which is why they have a site dedicated to it:
