Are you sick of Stormwind? Do you get tired of doing the same thing day in and day out? Maybe you’re on Horde and having Horde problems, I dunno, it’s been a while. Well, are you in luck!
I’m pretty bored, so I wanted to make a thread and ask those of us who still use forums to chat what zones you’d like to see more RP in. Whether it’s something you want to use for a campaign, an establishment, a guild or anything else, I’m sure we’ve all had a zone we’d just love to see flourish with RP. Who knows, maybe we could even spark a little interest in branching out into world RP!
I’ll start. I’d love to see more night elf RP focused in Feralas or even Moonglade, banding together as a people to defend what little lands they have left, maybe even branching out to support the elfy zones in the Broken Isles. I’d love to see more activity in the northern Eastern Kingdoms, that whole blob of WPL, EPL, Hillsbrad, and Hinterlands, far removed from the Kingdom of Stormwind and stained with the memory of great kingdoms before. Would also love to see the Exodar and Azuremyst Isles get some love RP-wise, especially with the recent additions.
Now I’ve only been back for like, a week, so it’s possible these things ARE happening! But this is essentially just a RP wishlist thread. So if any of y’all have something you’re dying to see, let us hear it. Maybe it’s already real, or in the works, or just needs that initial push to get started!
Love the places you mentioned. Some of them see some action, but not nearly as much as they deserve. I would personally love to see more Northrend activity. I’m always keeping an eye out for potential guilds or communities that utilize Northrend as their HQ.
Hey there! As mentioned already by Vaitern, there is a Discord for RP in Ashenvale and Kalimdor as a whole. Here’s the discord link: https://discord.gg/vKsSSqH8sP
The neutral goblin cities are always pretty underused. Booty Bay gets quite a few community events, but when was the last time anyone rped at Everlook?
I’d love to see parts of WoD Draenor used. They could be rehabbed parts of Outland or the Azuremyst Isle/cleansed Bloodmyst Isle using the Draenei settlements. Some of the orc settlements could be utilized as well. It just seems such a shame that such gorgeous zones like Shadowmoon Valley are not utilized. They’re so alive in terms of the towns, cities, wildlife, and just whole feel.
I have RPed all over the world and Outlands. ICly, I do not RP in Draenor or Shadowlands but have proxied stuff in both places. Between the guild, the Isle of Blackwake events, and individual RP, there is always something to do outside the city. It is not usual for me to grab someone and go somewhere other than Stormwind when I have the time.
Honestly, I don’t think any of these places are not used; it just isn’t a constant instant gratification kind of source for RP. People like the concept of there always being action and a chance someone will walk up. I say this because so many people will not do the walking up.
One place I use every Tuesday, minimum, is Rustberg Village, Tol Barad. I LOVE this island for so many story things, but also for our tavern that has been running for over 2.5 years.
I’m hopeful that closer to the end of dragon flight more people will rp there. Right now it can be a bit annoying actually having to press more than 1 button to kill mobs that agro while you’re rping. That being said there are still some great areas with no mobs like the tunnels to zarzaleck cavern
There is a monthly market that is cross-faction that runs out of Lordaeron, and there is a project for noble RP for living and undead that runs meetings twice a month as well. But something tells me you may be against such things. (Poking at the Scarlet tag. )
Under a neutral type community I run, we have done archeology digs in the past and talked of doing other kinds of Adventures, but I have been busy this summer. Things are cooling off, and we are starting walking adventures. A perfect way to go RP with some folks outside of the city. We will be picking places all over Azeroth that are beautiful and underused. We just listed our first one.
